Just went to it this morning at a 10:45 showing and it was a packed house. I don't know what it's earning this weekend, but I suspect it will be a new record for an opening weekend.
I won't post any spoilers, just want to say if you have any interest in superhero movies, and Marvel in particular, you will definitely enjoy it. Good story, some good new characters, and tons of action.
One minor complaint, I thought some of the CGI, the Hulk in particular, looked, well fake. The Hulk looked pretty bad in a few of his scenes.
By the way, there's a mid-credits easter egg but none at the very end of the credits, so don't bother hanging around till the end.

Good to know about nothing being at the end of the credits. My wife and I always wait a couple weeks to let crowds die down to go see movies.
