Lsi7s and add an SVS SB-2000, or lsim 703 with no sub?
Hello, I have a set of Lsi 7s with a HK 3490 receiver. I would like to add a sub, so was going to get an SVS SB-2000. I really like the sound of the 7s, but of course there isn't much at the low end. Wanted to ask if anyone had thoughts on the quality of sound with the 7s and the sub, or just upgrading to the newer lsim 703s without a sub? Don't have the budget for both the lsim and the SVS. The 703s can be a thought for a future upgrade if the sub would be a better choice between the two right now.
Thanks, Tommy

Honestly, if you like the sound of the 7's just upgrade to a SVS sub. Some people feel the 703's dont need a sub, but I'm not really one of them .
I also am one of the outspoken that prefer the LSi over the LSiM.
The easier cheaper upgrade is just the sub for now. Then make sure you've filled out the stuff to get emails from Polk on their "deals" as they occasionally run a "Friends and Family" sale where they put stuff on sale using a promo code (received via email) at a ridiculous price, which has been 50% off in the past.
At that price the 703's are much cheaper and if your still curious about them, I'd buy them. Then if you dont like them, you could return them and be happy with your 7's, or if you like them you could sell your 7's and help offset the cost of the 703's

Thanks for the replies ... thats what I was planning on diong, but wanted to see if anyone thought I was really missing something without the 703s
Set up is only for music, forgot to say that. -
I'm currently running some LSi-7s on that same HK in my home office with a Pioneer BDP-51fd player and a Def Tech 8" sub. The sub, which is not high end by any means, definitely fills out the low end and brings some more slam to the system.
Still planning on upgrading to 703s in the near future. But I can't complain for now!
Get a better sub and you'll be happier? Although the 8" is fine for my room and purposes.Currently orbiting Bowie's Blackstar.!

You may want to also consider looking at the HSU STF-2. Little cheaper than the SVS, but a pretty good sub
