Ebay pissed me off.......

I just have to vent this......
I had a pair of speakers up for auction. In and of itself, no big deal. There was someone else online that was trying to sell some of the same speakers and what he ended up doing was using my BIN to end my auction to get it out of the way so his auctions would be the only one's receiving bids. I didn't realize the the person that had bought my speakers was the same person that was selling the others until I had sent 3-4 emails to him (throughout a week's time) and he never once responded. I left negative feedback for him indicating what he did and in turn he left negative feedback for me, claiming that I was making things up. I did the whole 'responde to feedback' thing, but ultimately was getting pissed because there's now a negative on my account because I caught someone in a scam. I emailed Ebay and asked that they take the negative off my account as I was CLEARLY in the right (listed the auctions to prove my point) and they said no.
Here was my response this morning:
You have GOT to be kidding me that you believe that the negative feedback that was left for me is justifiable in ANY way. Your email says that "Members are held solely responsible for the comments they post" which is an absolute falacy. I (the seller) AM being held responsible for the negative feedback that was left as a slanderous action, NOT the buyer. That you could believe any differently is amazing to me.
The jist of what you're apparent policy here is indicating is that people can ruin other people's feedback ratings and get away with it without action from you. I don't care if you do decide to actually take action against their account. That you would leave your sellers (or buyers) high and dry as a result of these types of scum users makes me sick. I will cancel this account before I will allow for someone to see that someone screwed me over because THEY BROKE THE POLICIES and ended my auction (WITHOUT INTENT TO PAY) JUST so their auctions would make it through.
YOUR policy inhibits distrust between the users of Ebay and your company, and if this passiveness is the way that you're going to 'deal' with people like that of HTA_Sales ( sales@lakeview-electronics.com), I'll quit coming here.
It is sad that the only solution that you force people into is to keep re-creating accounts if they get some piece of **** like HTA_SALES that leaves negative feedback just because they were caught in a scam.
Way to go EBAY. Thank God you're out there protecting somebody; I just wish it was the RIGHT group you were looking out for.
*************
I doubt that they'll do what I want, but I had to **** about this one........

I had negative feedback removed once, but it was only because they were making personal attacks.

1: Future buyers will look at your feedback and follow through and look at what you left for the other guy and figure it out.
2: You can leave a response to the feedback so buyers see it. (make sure it makes you look like the good guy even though that may not make him look as bad as possible!)
3: People will ignore one or two neg feedbacks, just make sure YOU don't leave a pattern they can follow.
4: Get another ebay ID and buy an expensive item from him to keep him from selling it then leave neg feedback.
5: Email prospective buyers of his methods. (I've seen this done and it is not pretty, one $1000 DVD player I bid on had 20+ bids which were retracted (as was mine) after we were notified. The guy notified us a day before the sale ended
6: Beyond that just give it up. It's worth having a little fun with but eventually you will get in trouble.

Maybe eBay did get your point ... -
Damn... don't blame you brett. Just starting out feedback wise any negative is a tough hit, and I've never heard of something like this...
Since as PW pointed out he's a goner, likely due to your complaint, maybe you can reapproach ebay about having the negative removed...
... and there's always the ebay forum. Some folks get real worked up about stuff like this there and it may help to post there.More later,

Brett - It was very worth you expressing your thoughts, regardless of the actual outcome. A bad deal is a bad deal, and should be considered on a case by case basis, you are 100% valid. **** them, and hopefully you will be adjusted appropriately.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

sorry Brett, that's not fair. you have every right to be mad at ebay and the seller.
Of course he'll just sign up again and keep doing that to other people as well. to bad they can't block his IP address.
Whenever possible I try not to use BIN anymore. I've gotten burned a few times. in that i placed a to low BIN price.. and felt I was ripped off. but that's MY problem. not ebays. I know that's different than your problem.
On the email you received from ebay once the auction was over, did it list his mailing address by chance?PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Not that it matters now that he was suspended but you can also submit a failure to pay somehow. After 3 of those they get suspended.

You can bet your **** I filed a Non-Paying Bidder complaint. There's no way in hell I'm going to let Ebay charge me a Final Value Fee when I collected ZERO monies on something........comment comment comment comment. bitchy.
