You can skip past the rambling part to the bit at the end with the specifics of the sale if you want, but may first want to read the reasons why you shouldn't buy my Xbox.
Don't buy my Xbox One, build a PC instead
I decided to give the whole console gaming thing a go again with the newer consoles and after an honest two-month effort with both current-gem consoles I've decided once again I just can't make the switch from PC gaming.
I 'get' all the reasons that people prefer consoles over PCs for gaming. They're much cheaper (I literally just bought a video card setup that would pay for an Xbox One, PS4, and several games for each and yeah that's JUST the video cards). They're generally easier to set up and not as prone to failure, there are just so many components and so much opportunity for error in a PC build that things seldom 100% smoothly right after a build and all the time after. For example, I was up literally all night a couple days ago dealing with what ended up being two different brand new video cards that were each defective in totally different ways. Then there's the perpetual cycle of hardware upgrades to keep your rig up to date so that it can run the latest games.
And then on top of all the potential hardware issues you've got Windows to deal with and the games themselves are sometimes buggy and picky about what hardware they can run on. I can't even tell you how much time I spent a few years back trying to get Fallout 3 to run well on my machine
But the upsides with PC gaming are enough for me personally to put up with all the downsides. So yeah I get it, it's nice to be able to pop a disc in and play but the compromises you make on graphics and mods are just too big of a trade-off for me.
Don't buy my Xbox One, the PS4 is better
I'm joking of course, I know by now that there's no quicker way to start a heated flame war but kidding aside I really do prefer the PS4. We ended up buying both the One and the PS4 and will be keeping the PS4. I think the PS4 has better graphics overall even though the One may be better for some games. I like the interface better on the PS4, and everything from the UI to how things like updates work just all feels better on the PS4.
HOWEVER
If you're gonna buy an Xbox One, take mine
Mine is a couple months old and still has the original box and accessories and I'll include the receipt in the box for warranty purposes. The model I have is the Assassin's Creed bundle, which includes Black Flag and Unity and the version of the console without the Kinect - this is the model that sells at Best Buy for $349.
I'm throwing in a few extras as well, so here's what you're getting:
1 - Xbox One console complete with controller and accessories
2 - Assassins Creed Black Flag and Assassins Creed Unity games, these come as a code that you scratch off and add to your account. I have NOT redeemed these or even scratch off the code so you can add those
3 - Forza Motorsport 5 (brand new sealed and unopened)
4 - Forza Horizons 2
5 - GTA V (this is the reason I bought the Xbox to begin with)
6 - One year Xbox Live Gold Membership, another scratch-ff card thing that I haven't touched (they had this on sale with purchase of a console so I bought it but never used it)
If I'm doing my math correctly that's just over $550 worth of gear, some of which is unopened and the console itself is almost new with maybe 40 total hours on it.
I'd like to get $425 (local or plus shipping) for the lot
I may entertain the idea of splitting it up later but would prefer to sell as a lot to make shipping less of a hassle. I don't have pictures handy, but everything is in perfect condition and people who've bought from me here can vouch for that.

Yeah, I agree PS4 is better. If I was going to go into console gaming now, I would go with PS4.AVR: DENON X4000

Both are good on their own merits. I don't see one seriously outclassing the other. PS4 has slightly better multiplat graphics but the Xbox One can do a lot of non gaming (media) stuff the PS4 can't.
You're basically getting Forza 5, Horizon 2, GTA V, and a year of gold for $75. This is a great deal, good luck with your sale!afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

This is a gaming console not a media center, which is what XBox tried to do and failed miserably doing it. I love Xbox multiplayer gaming, but this year Xbox is falling behind PS4.
All of my friend who are hard core console gamers play PS4. Several of them traded their Xbox for the PS4. Others kept it just in case something good comes out. Xbox needs to go back to the basics and be a video game console.AVR: DENON X4000

No interest?
I guess I did too good a job of killing my own sale -
Danny,
How's the Xbox for media only? The gaming part does not have my interests. Have you tried playing bluray with it, how does it pass the audio? PCM or?
I am looking for something that has some cool techie stuff to it, has whole house media capabilities, and of course I want to see Dolby TruHD or DTS MA on my receiver.
Are there any hacks out? If there are any news of upcoming support for object based audio aka Atmos or DTS X, I am in.
Actually, let me research all my questions.

Sounds good because I don't know the answer to any of those questions

Cool. I have been speed reading through all these webpages for HD Audio support and bit streaming instead of lpcm. Just my luck, avsforum seems to have the most talk and it is painful going there.
So far, the One definitely has the tech/media edge. I really like the hand and voice features, which would be badassery for home theater room.
