Where do you buy inexpensive CD's?

Does anyone buy them anymore? Amazon is where I buy most of my stuff but their pricing is weird, it changes almost daily! Their selection is not the best for less popular things.

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. Mostly Goodwills, Thrift Stores, and yard sales around here. On a good day at a Thrift they can be four for a dollar - .25 cents each - but you have to look at them all, and titles are obviously spotty.

I've bought lots off CD Now (Amazon) they are priced fair plus you get a lot of free downloads to the cloud, Best Buy.com, Craigslist, Used CD sections at your local record store, yard sales and some of the best deals right out of Club Polks for sale section.

I forgot the Borders Book Store in the mall has lots of selections for $5, and the $5 bin at Wal-Mart also has a good selection.

You can't beat the Goodwill prices. And you're often surprised, the best stuff is almost in pristine condition, sometimes. Also, a good place to donate your old stock?

My closest local has her used cd's set at $5 which I think is high for this area.

The town over has them for $2 which I think is low for this area.

I'd say $3.50 would be a good price:)

Borders ? I thought they went Chapter 7. I buy from importcds.com. Decent shipping prices, good selection, quick delivery.

Also from used book stores, WalMart $5 bin.

They may do that. They sell new stuff, including dvd's and blu rays, from their own website: http://www.importcds.com/

Not necessarily cheap but, if you want something that's a little out of the mainstream, CD Baby is a good place to look. ;)

Nice score at Goodwill today I found a Hillary James & Bob James cd today new in the wrapper for $1.99. I looked it up on Amazon and they want like $39 for it! I never heard of it but I like Bob James so I am sure I will get my $1.99's worth out of it. Thanks for the heads up.

Turns out to be maybe maybe a litte poppy? But a great album. Not pop like the crap that we are inundated with. This is a nice album.

Never thought of looking at Goodwill until this thread. I stopped by on Saturday and picked up 7 CD's (after fighting through every known variety of CD, CD-ROM, video game, etc.). No prices anywhere to be found and not any CD I can't live without, but I figured I'd give $3 each and be happy. More than that and I might have to put a couple back on the shelf. I get to the checkout and ask how much they cost and was shocked at the answer...25 cents each. I embarrassingly whip out the credit card since I had no cash and pay $1.75 for my CD's. Sadly, the price went up to almost 30 cents each when I got home and discovered one of the cases has no CD (I know, rookie move not to check at the store.)

    Lisa Loeb: Firecracker
Dave Koz: Off the Beaten Path
    Cowboy Mouth: Word of Mouth
    10,000 Maniacs: In My Tribe
A Tribe Called Quest: The Anthology
    Forrest Gump Soundtrack

How's that for a varied selection?

Nice selection! Yea - I've made that mistake myself, twice! Which is pretty sad. Not anymore though. Also pays to look at each disc, some can be pretty abused. That being said, I've picked up some great titles, and a few treasures including a (Robert Fripp) "definitive" remastered King Crimson "Court of the Crimson King" as well as a Genesis original master recording of Abacab all for $3.
