What Monitor 7 models use the 6502 and SL2000

I know there are the Monitor 7 , 7A, 7B, 7C, and series 2. What ones used the 6502 and SL2000? Thanks.

As far as I know they all used the 6502 driver. The difference is in the tweeter. I believe the 7 used the peerless, the 7A and 7B used the SL1000, the 7C used the SL2000, the series 2 used the SL2500.

Not exactly sure about the 7A, it might have used the peerless as well. As with all things vintage Polk-wise, sometimes the mixed and matched...

Thanks smglbrth, I was wondering as I now have a pair of RD0194 tweeters in my Monitor5 jr's. I would like to make the transition to a pair of 7s as painless as possible when they and if they present themselves to me.

I forget what the original Monitor 7 used, but it wasn't the SL1000 or SL2000. The Monitor 7A uses the Peerless tweeter. I actually have a pair of 7As. Some of the 7Bs used the Peerless tweeter, and some of them used either the SL1000 or SL1500 as I recall. The 7C used the SL2000, and the later Monitor 7 Series II used the SL2500. There was a considerable amount of overlap though during transition periods. There are many examples of vintage Monitor's and SDA's that are labeled as a certain model number, but contain some mixture of the published specs for that model and the specs of the previous model. I believe there are some 7As out there that have the tweeter that was used prior to the Peerless.

Personally, I'd try to find a pair with the Peerless tweeters. They're generally considered the best sounding of the various versions of the Monitor 7, even compared to 7's that have been upgraded with RD0 tweeters. I'm planning on eventually modding the crossovers in them, but they sound amazing even without them.
