Mmm. My MiniPro 1 just returned from a full factory refresh and ready to scrub some vinyl goodness tonight! I'm feeling a Blue Fox Friday night coming!

Thanks RNT - So excited! I bought this one dirt cheap, had a leaky pump - but the factory refresh/repair is very reasonable and seems thorough, and got me into this unit for 1/3 of new so I'm pretty happy so far! It did seem to take forever though - they've had it about 7-8 weeks I think.

Can't wait to see how it works tonight now that it's factory fresh.

Be careful about the type of fluids you use in the NG. DO NOT use any enzyme defeating fluids - they will eat right through your seals. I have used NGs Pure fluids and some homebrew fluids. I also suggest scrubbing your LPs first with a MoFi brush and fluid prior to putting it on the NG MiniPro.

Hey @miner thanks - I have a couple bottles of the NG Pure cleaner - and they included two as well with the refurb which was nice of them.

I have a Spin Clean that I've been using previously, so they do/have gotten a bit of a prescrub already, but I'm hoping this will take the cleaning to the next level with the dual vac sweeps. Plus it will be so much faster!

If it is as good as the VPI that cleaned 10 of my LPs you are going to LOVE
the results. You could end up with a collection with NO pops or clicks.
Well, maybe not but I was impressed!!

That hardest thing I spent money on was my VPI record cleaner at around $650 it was hard to do, but now that I have had it awhile it was worth every penny.

I own a spin clean, a diskwasher kit , a zerostat, and a couple of antistat brushes. I need to invest in a Nitty Gritty or a VPI one of these days.

I keep eyeing zerostats - do you think it makes a solid difference? I ran the NG last night on about six albums - WOW - what a difference, not just clean-er of pops and ticks, but I think the dynamic range increased as well - old albums less cloudy sounding.

I sure getting the junk out of those grooves has to help the sound a lot.

I know dust settles none stop and sometimes after cleaning a record and then playing it, it seem by the end of 1 side of the record you can see some junk on the needle already and I wonder how much gets back into the grooves?
And I always use a distilled water rinse to finish the cleaning.

Ahhh - a rinse certainly makes sense Darryl - hadn't considered that. And good morning BTW!

That dang machine really is slick though I tell ya - both sides at once, and done in less than a minute. Dry and ready to play. I can finally get rid of my dish rack on the vinyl shelves LOL!

yep glad you like the machine, they make it a lot easier.

I saw some stuff from MOFI called pure record rinse so I bought a bottle, basically they call it triple distilled water. so after It ran out I just filled the bottle with regular distilled water seems to work just fine.

Cool - I have an empty bottle of NGPure 2 - maybe I'll try loading that up with some distilled and see what's what!

Zerostats definitely help against static electricity, they are not made by discwasher anymore and are pricey but effective.

my 70's zerostat worked...
dunno about the new ones.

I have been looking in to picking up a zero stat as I have horrible static issues. I am worried it will not work though and thats a lot of cash on a maybe.

few things that help with the static. The Zerostat & Hunt EDA Mk 6 Carbon Fiber Record Brush it like a 3 sided brush depending how you tilt it.

I have a Super Exstatic that I use while holding the metal back plate and touching the ground screw for a couple of spins in a hope to clear static and any dust on the record but still when I lift the lp off the turntable it actually tugs at the hair on my arm. I am hoping the Zerostat will be my magic solution because it is god awful annoying.
