Not to derail your post--you have other video's & the ''1c demo'' would you know what that song is & maybe artist ? I listened to it & it is very relaxing. Id like to get it on vinyl
EDIT- it was the 1c demo without singing. Mostly piano. Cant find it now. I will search utube

I think I see what you're talking about.

yikes to that speaker action; looks a bit extreme, but I wouldn't know. lots of cameras' mics are prob overrun by frequencies and output levels like I would imagine were present during these videos, so coulda sounded worse in the video than it really was?

boston - do you have a smartphone? have you ever tried Soundhound or Shazam for song ID? works pretty well most of the time.

In reference to the 2 videos in the OP: I bet this is how @bobt plays his SDA 1C's and wonders why his midwoofers are dying and replacements are "popping".

I play that song at least once on almost all of my floor standing speakers.
The distortion you hear is from the phone's microphone.

I like Nightfall's music (My new Polk SDA-1C's playing Jim Brickman's Lake Erie Rainfall); a new artist for me.

I tried the loopback mode in JRiver to capture the 1C youtube audio stream to play through my 2B's. The sound was really good.

I have an audio test CD originally recorded in the 70's, I think. At the end of it there is a low bass tone that will move drivers like crazy but you can barely hear it. It's a nice CD to test vintage Polks for air leaks, etc... Obviously not at that level however...
