    Don't have any Lightfoot, but I've always liked alot of his stuff. I'll have to rectify that.

    A bit of trivia: a good friend of mine was in the Merchant Marine working freighters on the great lakes. He was on the ship behind the Edmund Fitzgerald the night it went down. He said that although the crew of these ships were issued mandatory life jackets nobody every wore them. The water was so cold that if you went in you might survive for 30 seconds.

    I got his Gordon's Gold 2 LP Vinyl record, worth having but not all of his hits are on it.

    the Carol King's Tapestry is worth having too :)

    He was (perhaps still is) doing a "50th Anniversary in the Biz" tour recently.
    Heard an interview with him a few months back on the radio -- he was surprisingly engaging, relaxed, un-affected, and interesting. I expected him to be much more aloof given his long history and standing.

    As I listen to him now, I cannot help to draw comparisons (in both directions) with his fellow Canuckistani, Bruce Cockburn. Maybe that is why I expected Lightfoot to be more truculent.

    Nice!! Tapestry is one of my faves from Carol. I have it on LP and sacd.
    Gordon is another one of thoes artists that people forget about but, when they hear him again, they re-discover him over and over.
