I think this is the most popular karma I've seen here. Didn't realize there were so many headphones enthusiasts, why doesn't anybody talk about headphones around here besides Assimilated?afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

For myself it's because I found the headphones I like (Beyerdynamic DT-770s) and they are NOT what I'd call accurate lol. I have no real interest in trying a bunch more at a high cost as all the audiophile ones are open backed and not something I can mess with at work, and at home well I listen to my speakers..
I also don't like IEMs as they normally hurt my ears so those are out as well. So basically all I like are over the ear headphones of a DJ type sonic signature. Not exactly something I see lots of people here being interested in hearing about...
I use headphones to enjoy the music ONLY which means turning off the critical side of my brain entirely and just jamming with lots of bass to enjoyable recordings with nice bass lines....
And honestly head-fi kinda owns re headphone forum market lol.. There is so much info there and experts I go there for info...

Just got the news. Was sealing our patio all weekend... (Fun) What a way to end a hard working weekend - with a nice cold beer and a karma win! Thanks Roger for the great Karma. Looking forward to trying this out. PM sent! Let me know if I can at least pick up the postage!
Thanks again,

Received the DAC yesterday in like new condition in the original packaging. I was like a kid on Christmas morning. Many, MANY thanks to Roger for such a generous Karma!
So far, I've only been able to get it to work as an amp using the 3.5mm input. I will likely start a new thread for help getting it to work as a DAC through the USB connection. Even just as a headphone amp, there is quite a nice improvement in sound quality/volume levels.
Thanks again Roger! -
Hello Al,
Glad it make it,
I never used it as a USB Dac just with headphones a couple of times. I was just looking at the manual online and notice that it came with a mini stereo cable that I never sent to you sorry (the other day I remember seeing that little cable forgot it when with the fillo I will mail it to you in the next couple of days)
I would suggest going online and looking up the manual for the USB connection. It's probably as simple as getting the computer to recognise it.
Good luck
Roger

Roger, NO need to mail that connector! I have several 3.5mm to 3.5mm cables and am using one right now! You've already been MORE than kind/generous in this karma!
I did get the manual online and followed the (loosely translated) instructions for USB connection. No luck... Even tried manually downloading drivers and the device is still not recognized by the PCs.
I started a new thread here looking for help:
http://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/167244/how-to-use-a-dac-with-a-pc#latest
Honestly, it's not a huge deal. I love the extra volume this gives to the (previously) limited volume output from our tablets and phones. That's probably what we'll use it for anyway. I was just curious if the DAC would make any noticeable improvements to SQ.
Thanks again!!!

UPDATE...
I finally had a chance to dig out another USB to Mini-USB cable and try it with the FiiO. I powered it up, connected the new cable, plugged into the laptop, and right clicked on the speaker icon. Under Playback Devices, it automatically defaulted to the SPDIF Out (FiiO DAC). SUCCESS! Definite improvement in sound quality.
BIG thanks to Roger (Polk500) for the AWESOME Karma! Looking forward to more music on this.
