LSi15 Owners!

I've been experimenting with different placement configurations of my LSi15's and I think I'm zeroing in on my preferred position: about 3' off the wall (closest sidewall is 5' from the right channel), approx 8.5' apart and the tweeters each 8.5' from my ears.

My question to you is with regards to toe-in angle. Are you pointing the speaker in a more direct fashion or do you prefer aiming them more to the "shoulders", if not wider?

I realize this is largely subjective and room dependent but I'd like to have the discussion regardless.

I've found if I aim directly at my seat I get a razor sharp image but the soundstage is extremely narrow. Using that result, I went to the opposite extreme and set each speaker nearly perpendicular with the wall. This position created too much separation and the image suffered terribly. I've come back to find I like aiming at an imaginary point behind my listening position, roughly 3' back. This position provides the best mix of imaging and depth in the soundstage, for me in my room.

I'm curious to hear what you've found has worked well with your setup. The cool thing about positioning is, it's a free adjustment we can all make to experiment with and tweak our systems!

When I had my 15's I ended up shooting them right behind my head as well. And I messed around with them a lot.

    Great speakers.

A general rule, from your listening position you should be able to just see the inside leading edge of each speaker.

I have mine about 8 feet apart, 2 feet from the back wall and 4 feet from the side walls. I sit about 10 feet away. I have beat to death toe in with these, they don't like too much toe in. In my basement they liked straight a head (my friend does this in his theater as well), but in my room I do about 10-15 degrees. Its a very, very slight toe in. These are strictly 2 channel in my living room

This is good info, as prior to my most recent setup (last ~2 months), the LSi's were primarily for theater use.

I'll experiment a bit more tonight with widening the angle and take note of any differences I experience.
