Question about MBM (MidBass Modules)

Hello Polkies,
I may have the chance to own an SVS PB12-Plus/2 right now. I currently own and am running a little Sunfire D-8. I listen to a lot of music on this system, would I benefit in any way from using the D-8? Possibly for more punch in upper-bass? I run everything from JRiver Media Center which has very, very detailed control for output, and am going to be upgrading sound cards soon. I currently use my soundcard as my pre, and may keep it that way (already discussed lol). So back to my original question, I'm very new to the idea of MBM's, and wondered if I could somehow use the D-8 in this way? I love the lil sucker, and it has a fast, tight response, but wasn't sure if I should try it, or how it should be done. ANY info would be greatly appreciated 65/35 - Music /Movies (Electronic mostly w/ some rap/rock, movies are action mostly). Quicker answers, the better due to budgeting constraints.

Yes, you can.
Benefit...meh...hard to tell really. The only 2 people I know that are specifically using MBMs with J-River Media Center are using 4 18s in one case and 8 15s in another case as MBMs. So they obviously are getting some effect.
But I say it can't hurt.
Most HTs suffer at that point when the sub slope drops off and the main's slope picks up. Something that could bridge that gap can't be bad...right?"Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."
"Unwad those panties and have a good time man. We're all here to help each other, no matter how it might appear." DSkip -
We'll see... I want the SVS, but I'm looking at a pair of Eminent LFT-8's and LFT-16 Center... and may have to pass on the SVS... I really, really want it, but pretty much it comes down to trading my RTi12's and CSi5 for the LFT-8's and LFT-16 OR trading the RTi12's/RTi10's/CSi5 for the SVS. The SVS is mint, the LFT-8's / LFT-16's should be, surprisingly, minty. IF I go for the LFT's, I'll try to sell my RTi10's and Sunfire for money on a good sub.LivingRoom

I just get the feeling if I pass up on EITHER deal, I'll regret it. Especially been wanting that EXACT SVS for a long time.LivingRoom

Mean to quote you, is there a way to delete the original comment?
