Picked this up for $30 and was wondering if anyone had or knew anything about it. I searched but found very little on the web.

I didn't even know "vintage" Parasound receivers existed and I've been in and around that market for years?

Looks nice. Evidently made in Korea in the early '80s about the same time Rat Shack switched to Korea, if I'm not mistaken? Doesn't seem to be too powerful. 1.5 amps at 240v in one ebay pic. So I'm guessing 25 watts x 2 or more, less?

I'll be taking a look at a Scott R-376 later in the week for little less (either needs some DeOxit or fuse or something more substantial-one channel is phasing in and out, but pics look VERY clean otherwise)! I have some old HH Scott speakers I may pair it with for kicks?

I need to quit looking at all this old stuff, I've been skunked so bad lately, my symptoms of withdrawl are about to do me in..... :(

Yea I emailed Parasound and received this:

    Hello Glenn,

    Thank you for your message.
The SR225 is vintage 1984 and I regret we don't have any documentation for it.
Its power rating was 25w/channel with an 8 ohm load.

    bst rgds,
    Richard

I hooked it up to my Monitor 10's in the BR for testing. The tuner seems to be great at picking up radio stations. Will play with the phono after I repair my Technics TT. Might even see how it sounds with my iPod and dock.

I was going to say early to mid 80's due to the tuning dial still being analog and the introduction of led's taking the place of tuning, or signal strength . Also the rounded ends of the knobs. ;) This model or a year or 2 later was offered in a black face instead of silver.

Update: So the GF was complaining about her radio going in and out when she was getting dressed in the mornings for work. It was a little boom box. I know I just dated my self..... I had taken this to my parents house for my bedroom there over the summer. Last week I was visiting them and picked it up. Tonight I took ti to the GF's house and set it up.
