is this amp worth asking price ?

This is a 10 watt integrated amp. What kind of tubes I have no idea or maybe I missed it in the add. He's asking $225 for this little push /pull model that does not come w/ a name. Coincidentally this is the guy I already have bought my ADC 303 ax speakers years ago so he does know gear and refurbs beat speakers and such. Another thing would it push the 2Bs and is it a common ground amp. It does come w/ full compliment of tubes (brands unknown) and also the power cord.

From the title of the ad it sounds like it is a Music Angel amp, which is made in China. It says that it uses 2) 6AQ5 tubes and 2) 6N2 tubes. It is more than likely common ground. At 10 watts a channel you will get sound from your 2B's ( dinner music?) but in my opinion it is no where near the power needed to get the 2B's to open up. 10 watts would be fine with a very efficient speaker in the 95db on up range. Only my opinion as some feel that a tube amp even of flea size wattage has enough power to run most any speaker.

I hear ya. Klipsch always said you need the smallest of watts to push their large corner horns again because of their efficiency. This I would pass on. Oh, this guy showed me ' his room' and I was floored. He had 2 giant Albert Van Alsteins I think the totl models the 2 parters w/ cables coming out of them the size of anaconda snakes running into 2 mono blocks on the floor like at shows. I asked to hear them and he said we don't have enough time because they take a good hour to get to peak performance. I don't think tubes are in my future. I'll stick w/ instant gratification of ss. It was a really nice room though.

borderline "worth it" IMO -- you could probably find a re-habbed and domesticated Maggotbox (Magnavox) console amplifier for that $ (or less) that would likely sound better and hold up better in the long run... but there is something to be said for buying something "modern" in terms of the fairly limited amount of wear-and-tear its components should have had.

As Pasteur said, "Chance favors the prepared mind."

This beautiful, rehabbed pair of R/S push-pull 6V6 mono integrated amps was $140 at a local vintage radio/audio fleamarket/swapmeet a few years back.

Here's a cute little push-pull 6AQ5 ex-console ("Electrohome" brand) amplifier I picked up last year at the same semi-annual swapmeet (www.nearc.net) with its price sticker still on it :- )

The 6AQ5 is in essence the same power tube as a 6V6 in a miniature 7-pin envelope -- sort of a neglected hifi tube in this day and age (i.e., NOS and used 6AQ5s are plentiful & cheap as dirt). The Electrohome amp above sounds really excellent to me 'as found' (but could, of course, benefit from some judicious rehabilitation... which, someday, it'll get).

It is a Music Angel amp. There are lots of Ebay. The best price delivered I saw was $232. They are listed at $147.17 on their website. http://www.china-hifi-audio.com/en/music-angel-tube-amp-c-15/music-angel-mengyue-minil1-6p1-push-pull-integrated-amplifier-p-149
