Heard them @ RMAF 2013 Dagostino paired Vandersteen 5a, sound was good but not great, but I am also not a big fan of speakers with built in sub woofers and amps.

The RMAF 2014 (I was not there) but Dag/Wilson Alexia's pairing has had great reviews, and that's a positive because the Alexia's paired with the top of the line VTL's was bad at RMAF 2013.

Interesting....the Vandy 5a I thought was one speaker that actually incorporated built in subs well. Not really a fan of that either though.

I like an amp to take charge of the whole speaker, that's just me though, but maybe explains the big difference with the Wilsons.

    Quintessence audio.
The Aida's were at a dealer. I have noticed that owners of gear like Aida's are very busy and it's tough to get face time with them.
OMG, I hate those guys! In a good way :) They were the featured exhibitor and had four amazing kick **** systems at AXPONA last year. They were a bunch of nice guy and very approachable even though they had BIG rooms.1) SF Adia /Audio Research, (The Aida's had that full orchestra in the big room presentation, amazing!)
    2) Focal Stella / Aesthetix, (The Stella was doing some really deep and clean bass that you just don't hear everyday.
    3) Dynaudio Evidence Platinum/Simaudio
    4) Magico S3/Pass Labs.
The only rooms I ran across that had no issue with letting one play their own material.... even in the $200K rooms! If I were wealthy those guys would have a ton of my money. ($200K system? Wow, maybe not that much?) They were not just equipment guys...they were music lovers also. Great staff there from what I can tell.

Joey, you and yours must be doing something right and have a good relationship. Good for you that your SF dreams are going to come true.

Those dags rarely come up for sale but when one does and I'm ready, in reeling the fish in. But probably need to heal for a year or two first.

    Thanks W!

Man I still wish I was able to pull off the Houston Craigslist thing with the Mac monoblocks zzz but yeah... Wife is great and she allows this craziness to occur. She reminds me to be very careful with the purchase and make sure I'm not putting anything in jeopardy by buying a speaker of this level. Jeopardy as in financial status.

    Such amazing designs and craftsmanship:

Man do I love the look of the Amati Futura in graphite:

So sharp, contemporary, and luxurious that one would want to make sure the room decor and furniture are up to snuff. These just don't work in too casual or country decors.

If i had the coin to throw down on a pair, they would go with anything...because I wouldn't give a #@%k what people thought :D

They are beautiful and would deserve better

Yep Mick no longer carries vandys. He is still there though... Good guy. Easy to demo with.

His main gear is sonus and magico, dagostinos, TA, ARC, Chord.

Man, I listened to their rooms at Axpona. Those Sony SS-AR1 mated with the Rogue Audio really did it for me. One of my favorites of the show and I did not even listen to that that long. I really want to listen to those again, and again, and again!

I have heard them on Alexias and Aidas. They were both superb. I've never considered Krell equipment to be warm. But the D'Agastinos had just a shade of that.
