"Top Gear", now what?

With Jezza gone, what's the future of this show?
I have a hard time imagining the BBC is going to willfully toss aside a billion $ cash cow such as this.

That's my all-time favorite TV show, I was bummer when I heard this last week. I think they're all up for a contract renewal season so I'm curious if Hammond and May will follow him out, I bet the BBC will throw enough money at them to prevent that.

I'm sure they'll get another guy in there to replace Clarkson and it may end up being as good or better, but it will never be the same.

    Suck

The show will continue but it won't be the same. Watch the American Top Gear, same formula but that certain something is missing. That's what's going to happen to the UK Top Gear now, IMO.

The American Top Gear sucks so hard, doesn't hold a candle to the BBC's.

I can't stand that New York guy. He's not funny, mostly annoying, and he always chooses the worst cars: the giant boats America churned out in the 80's.

Ugh, none of those American guys can compare to Jeremy,James and Richard. Plus, the BBC's also have The Stig! :D

I don't mind Tanner, he can actually drive. Rutledge doesn't bother me, he's alright. Adam drags the entire dynamic down for me, though.

Domestic TG is just sad, seriously.
If they throw enough $$$ at May and Hammond they might stay, but who will be the replacement?
If it's Russell Brand (which I doubt), I'll never watch it again.
Chris Evans I know nothing about, and he might be funny, but...IDK?

My guess, they will be offered a lot of money to bring the show to another network (or some version of it) and keep it going.

Without Clarkson, it does not work. The BBC had to know when they let him go, they were also letting go of Top Gear...

When BBC director general Tony Hall announced that Jeremy Clarkson's Top Gear contract would not be renewed, the executive was quick to emphasize that the show would go on for another season. But news out of the Dunsfold Park hangar/studio where the show was filmed seems to paint a different story: The familiar warehouse is being emptied of any and all Top Gear paraphernalia. I don't condone what he did, but the BBC could have done so much with this. I wasn't in the room, so maybe it was proposed and Clarkson said no. For Six months to a year, they could have had Clarkson doing PSAs at schools. Instead of his usually role, the cameras could have cut to Clarkson writing on the chalkboard " Though shall not Fracas". I don't even know if the producer had a family, but they could have shown Clarkson mowing the guy's lawn, taking his kids to school, painting his house, etc.... You know, trying to accomplish all sorts of everyday chores while driving those impractical sports cars.

I don't see Clarkson doing any of this...

He has been showing his disdain for the BBC for a long time. I thin this has been coming for a long time.

Clarkson was also caught on an out take saying the N word. He's a drunk. He hit a producer for not having hot food ready in his room. I did like the show and do agree the U.S. version sucked making it kinda like a elimination game show. It's gone and Rutledge has his own show now soon to premiere on History.

Just a hunch. 1.I have not seen any previews of the new season and I just can't see that dude Rutledge doing 2 shows. Besides what makes him such an expert. This just guess work on my part and could very well be wrong.

It's most likely an April Fools joke, but there is a rumor going around, of the trinity coming to to the U.S.
Clarksons favorite schtick is hating America, so I don't see that happening.
IF, repeat IF they did, they'd have to end up on a channel without the p.c. nonsense of the major networks.
IIRC, the History channel is owned by NBC, which would explain the politically sterile state of TGUS.
    And sterile = BORING!!!

It's important to understand that Clarkson didn't get fired for his opinions or style, he got fired for punching some guy out. I don't think any TV network, regardless of who owns them, is gonna let him go around punching producers.

No argument there, I was just commenting on his history of political incorrectness.
