I'm just curious as to the most popular brands of speakers in this forum. The first three brands are the ones, in order, I'm currently considering.

i'm thinking since this IS a Polk Audio forum.. you're highly likely to get mostly Polk as the speaker of choice. If you asked the people in the Klipsch forum.. they'll prob say Klipsch is their speaker of choice.
To be nonbiased.. you would prob need to ask this question in a neutral forum.. such as Sound & Vision or HT Forum.
good luck. I'll be interested to see what your findings are on this.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?
Vancouver, Canada Sept 30th, 2012 - Madonna concert  -
For HT - Polk ... But B&W for 2 Channel
-
Yeah, I figured the results would be biased; but I was wondering what THIS forum thought, so there ya go. I am, however, surprised at how unbiased most of you guys are; it's really appreciated by me and I'm sure all the other newbies, too!George Grand wrote: »

I assume you do mean B & W not B & K. I don't think B&K makes speakers.

Yeah, I think I meant B&W; you can tell they're out of my price range. And, I can't believe I forgot Bose; after all, I do have a pair of their headphones!George Grand wrote: »

Didn't we do this last year???Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a t-u-r-d by the clean end."
President of Club Polk -
I would've voted for B&W had they been on the list as well.

Man!! I wish I would stop messin' up these polls!!!

The B&K is supposed to be B&W!!!

How come nobody's goin' for Energy, Klipsch, or Wharfedale? They sound cool! If you disagree, please say why. In fact, we could turn this into a learning experience for me and any other newbies who might read this. So, say why you voted for what you did (if you're not ashamed to admit what you voted fer ), why ya didn't vote fer that which you didn't, and what brands and why you would add to the list. I hope this doesn't take the fun out of it. I would sure learn from the responses!!George Grand wrote: »

Hmmm ...
Did you really expect that folks who bought Polk speakers assumedly after listening to a variety of others and who hang out in a Polk forum would in large part vote for something else ? -

Hmmm..
Did I say that I expected y'all to vote "in large part" for something else? NO!!! I didn't even say that I expected y'all to vote "at all" for somethig else. I, as I said, have been amazed at the general neutrality of this forum and the desire to help others more than to promote one brand. I fully expect, and still do, for the majority to vote for polk, but, as you can vote for more than one brand, I DO expect for some people to vote for some others and hopefully share why they hold w/e opinions about w/e brand.George Grand wrote: »

Thanks, ACTVenom; however, we are all biased, so I'm not looking for 'pure' opinions, because opinions ARE biased, that's why they are opinions, and that what speaker preferences are.George Grand wrote: »

I guess I must have misread this ...How come nobody's goin' for Energy, Klipsch, or Wharfedale?
and maybe I just don't understand the definition of the word favorite. -
OOOOPPPSS!!!!
I'm VERY sorry!!!
I totally forgot what I entitled this forum. My bad!!
I guess I had forgotten so much about the poll and started eagerly anticipatin' members' valued opinions about the various brands, from which I would grow speaker-knowledgeable.
I apologize about that. Yeah, with me asking for your favorites, I can't very well give you hard time for not voting for something else. My bad!! HAVE MERCY!!!George Grand wrote: »
