Hi All,

So I have been looking for a DAC that can do DSD for some time now. The Teac UD-301 just went on sale for $399.00 from $549.00 and also has $100.00 rebate so at the end only $299.00 plus trow in a few award miles and is only $55.00 out the door not bad. Amazon says it will be here Sunday can wait.....

http://www.teac.com/product/ud-301/

Cheers

I'll give you $60 for it.

Hey I will keep it in mind.

I was also considering the Essence DAC because of the HDMI input. But could not pass on the Teac at that price.

Yes they do here in the Bay Area. At first I was skeptical until got my delivery on Sunday.

Does this wood panels count as room treatments is an old house and I am in the learning steps of room treatments........:')

I couldn't have either. The chord is the only thing on my radar that makes me want to step up in the Dac area. That hdmi input is killer for the projector. Keeps a receiver out of the mix and the sound quality up a few notches.

Let us now how it sounds and congrats on a killer price.

    I will.

I am not a good reviewer when it comes to writing but will do my best.

I was doing some looking around after checking out your new DAC and their headphone amp looks really nice. Dual mono, Class A. Perhaps someday when I'm done building my actual stereo.

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. If it's 1/2 as good as my TEAC UD-501 you are certainly in for a treat!!! Awesome sounding DAC that according to my ears is as far away from cold-sounding as one can get. Maybe the reviewer lived in Alaska & he wrote the review in mid January w/ the air conditioning on...now that would be cold, not the DAC. Congrats & enjoy!!!!

So finally got some time to play with the new DAC. I have to say the improvements over the Oppo are amazing. Last night listen to Nirvana, Patricia Barber, Diana Krall and Tool(MP3). The increase of bass output from the Linn's small towers is amazing no sub-woofer and I can fell the punch from them. The details in the voices was better and the piano wow. Next will be to try the Usher's. I am using Foobar as the music player.

I also change the speaker cable to my old Prism Omni speaker cables and added this as a music server. Is an Intel NUC this thing is small and very nice.

I still have to do some more tweaking and testing. I did rearrange the system yesterday getting ready for the arrival of the new sub, but know I have a hum and need to track it down.

Congrats man, glad your digging it. Could be a preference for the Burr Brown chip in the Tech over the Oppo ? Personally I think the Burr Browns have a more analog sound.

I did have that setup before. Now from the PC to the DAC I am getting very good sound quality. I will have to try using the old setup again and compare.

My Oppo w/4TB USB HDD connected runs dig coax to my benchmark DAC. Love the setup for hi-res/flac files. It's the best "source" setup I've owned. Dead quiet/tons dynamic range/and zero grain or digital glare. I call it my "digital turntable."

    Hey thanks.

The NUC is a small form factor PC from Intel is only 4"X4" has a Celeron running at 1.1ghz but so far is working fine. They are also available with Core I3, 5 and 7. They come as a bare-bone unit. all is need it memory, SSD HD and OS and no fans.

    Hi

I am having a few problems with the TEAC HR Audio software. It will not recognize any of DSF files. Any recommendations. It did at the beginning but not now. I have not had much time to play with the DAC with the work load.
