Fixed It

So i dropped pair of 194's in my CRS+'s & upon doing so i noticed the gasket or whatever you call it wasnt there. So out in the speaker pile i go & nice,i got a spare. Since i had them i didnt think there was much bass. I thought it was the cr2040 yammy. Well big improvement in bass now. I never did a leak test being they are different bred than the other SDA's & its got the passive thingy cover yten4pkd8401.jpg

on the back. Anyways got more bass & it wasnt the receiver. The tweets sound sweet & i can enjoy them when watching concerts in that room. Ive been neglecting them & working on other projects.

Those are some mint looking CRS's. I was using a CA-1010 on my RTA-12's before I got an AVR and I have heard people say that the CR and CA Yamaha's are bass shy but I never heard it. Didn't sound bright to me either. I bet your setup sounds great.

    Two beauties there, Randy!

Also space savers which the larger SDAs are not, for the most part. Wives "hate" the big boys! lol

    Enjoy!

i gotta do some work on the cabinets. They are in very good condition BUT the veneer seems to be drying up-if that makes sense. I wipe them down often BUT it doesnt seem to help. Maybe some Danish Oil or something. Any thoughts ???? Another project on list. It never ends

Have you tried the old yellow can Johnsons Paste Wax? I use very fine steel wool and then and rub until my hands hurt :-) polish with a microfiber cloth.

Just be glad there is an abundance of old Polk and other gear where you live there is hardly anything around here. I think it has something to do with with climate down here we are not shut in for days and can't get out or don't want to. Plus seems that the eastern seaboard, northern tier and Colorado area has the most equipment.

Thanks for the tip. We do NOT see many up here. Ive got mostly everything from Colorado & had it shipped here. I was lucky to get my 1c's from storage when someone came from Florida up here. In the pass 3 years ive been tinkering with the Monitors & keep every screw because ya never know when your gonna need them

Ha yea I don't throw anything away and it shows LOL. The only Polks I got used in Houston was the 1C and I was so excited that I got about 2 hours sleep the night before I was going to see them.
