Maggie 2.7 QR's heading my way

I just bought a pair of Magneplanar 2.7 QR's to replace my current MMG's.

Should I go ahead and sleep at night, or just stay awake in anticipation until they actually get here?

I have owned two pairs of MMG's and one pair of MG-II's, but I have never actually heard a set of big Maggies side by side with the "little" MMG's to compare.

Just wondering from people who have already traded up, or down, or both ways.

You will enjoy the upgrade, but won't be truly happy until you get the 3.6r, or the 20.1

lol... I started with MMG's then went to MG20's... The ribbon tweeter in the 3.6 is pure sonic bliss, and why I mentioned them. The MMG is the gateway drug, and the 2.7 is really just a bigger MMG. The ribbon tweeter is when the real magic begins.

  • I thought I was happy for about 2 minutes (2:29-2:27), but I bet you are right. I will probably be needing me some of that ribbon tweeter crack when I gather the fund-age.

Not trying to be a buzzkill... ENJOY those speakers! It is just that I understand the progression of the audiophilia disease all to well.

There is no cure, just sonic bliss.

I am sure you are just laughing with me, not at me.

You are correct on all counts sir. If you need help getting the best from them, let me know. I worked @Magnepan as a kid in high school for a couple summers, and have owned a couple pairs over the years...

    Enjoy the music!
