Advent baby Advent ii 's. Ive heard & owned bigger ones & enjoyed them. I recently got these for 1.00 & they are almost brand spanking new condition -minus- the surrounds gone. This weekend i plan on replacing them with new surround kit i got. Just been too busy with work & other projects. If youve heard these id be interested in your impressions good n bad welcome
-exit- forgot to add im going to hook them to a small mini Onkyo 20wpc receiver vs the Onkyo speakers for a small room

Have a set I run in the garage currently Boston, a nice sounding speaker actually. I used to run them when I was a younger pup in the living room of my apartment, the first wife has them now... Easy to drive and pretty musical considering IMO. I always ran them off a receiver (including now in the garage) but put about twice the juice to them you're planning to so your mileage may vary. For $1 and a surround kit, you absolutely can't go wrong.

They were nice speakers... I had them paired up with an old Mitsubishi D series receiver back in the day and I liked them.

Great. I cant wait do do the work. Its the second time i have ever done surrounds & the first ones actually worked after i did them LOL. They were some cheesy Pioneers & i bought them just to say to myself i did the surrounds. This time i plan on taking my time & making it come out better. Plan on keeping them this timersa5e4ommjpt.jpg

Thanks John. I used a small brush & put it on the best i could & it came out nice. It looks better now as its a clear glue. Im gonna do outside edge in 30 mins & let them set overnight & install in morning. I hooked them up earlier to a Denon dra435r & even with the surround having a crack in them they sounded great. I cant wait to get them finished. I will post pictures in morning of them cleaned up. They look almost new & this being my 2nd time ever im very happy & i took my time this time  i hope to get years of enjoyment out of them

Can you help a member out? One who's horribly challenged. :s
Next time set up a video camera, record your process and post it on the forum. :)

I loved the late 80's early 90's Advent speakers. I had the Maestros (the wife gave them away errrr). The had great sound and looked good. I wish I still had them. Yes they need lots of power but the sound was great.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

LOL. That is red marker. I put red dot on everything including rim & it all went back into its place where it was taking out. Makes it easier. Minus my fingy

Well got em hooked up & listened to Fleetwood Mac & Rolling Stones. Not bad for their size. Tons of bass had to back it off. Tweeters stand out nicely. Vocals were very nice & background & cymbals on 'Please to Meet you' from Stones was pleasing. Time to get some listening time in & enjoy them

Got probably 6+ hours on the Advents & they sound sweet on Led Zep right now. Started another project now on a pair of JBL mr25's now. These are small & not worth the fuss but i will take them on as im waiting for parts for SDA's spikes & MIT adaptor to get in. u7jq8gzgt7nt.jpg
