I have a Dared SL2000a in EXCELLENT condition. It has Sylvania Rectifier and AT7's as well. Includes manual, remote, power cord and original box. (The remote is in need of a new battery.)

    Thanks Skip,I am going to take you up on that at some point.I'm just trying to get everything broken in first,Dave(westmassguy)built me a dreadnought that is still breaking in and the Parasound I just got is a improvement to me over the Adcom 555.I just needed a better preamp to get a better feel of where I'm headed.

    That is the whole reason I chose the pre,I figure it is is cheaper to learn this way than jumping into the tube amps

    Thanks,I'm glad I got it and now I need to update the entech 203.2 dac I am using.I have some extra funds so I will be on the lookout for one of those next.

    Congrats on the Dared!!! Excellent entry tube pre. I had one b4 and some tubes that worked well for me were.....Brimar rectifier tube with siemens 12at7 or Psavane 12at7
    With seimens tubes (tubes produced in the 50's & 60's were much better than later production tubes)

    Amperex 12at7 pretty good also. Those were all the tubes I used with this pre, all with good results. YMMV.

    Try to find a Brimar rec tube hard to find but worth it!!

    Thanks for the list of tubes dhart,I have been trying to get my read on about the dared.I think I read where this one has already had a cap upgrade by another member here so if that's true that makes it even better and I'm sure I am going to enjoy it.

    Dennis.. that was the one I got from Paul and gave back to him. I really like the preamp and you will like it I'm sure, I agree with Darren on the Brimar rectifier and the Psvane 12At7's as that is the combo I like in the Dared SL200a the most but change is nice too :) even stock this will be a great little preamp for you ENJOY!

    Oh, I'm sure I will enjoy it.This will be interesting to see how it sounds with the 2.3tl's.The hole is fixing to get a little deeper I'm afraid.I've already set a little money aside for some extra tubes.This is the very first set of tubes I will own or have seen except at Skip's place so I'm looking forward to it
