TV upgrade.......feedback on 4K versus 1080P?

I'm probably in the minority, but I haven't been all that impressed with 4k. Sure, if you sit three fit away the difference is discernible, but from (what I might consider) a "normal" viewing distance the upgrade isn't all that major to me.

LOL....You don't have to have the camera on I guess. Smart TV's may be responsible for broken marriages like Facebook. Some little dweeb is sitting in a dark bedroom with his 'puter, hacks into your smart tv and before you know it you and the babysitter are the next Youtube sensation. lol Wife leaves you, kids won't talk to you, babysitters parents are lawyering up, dog left home, you lost your job......all because you wanted a smart tv. lol

HAH. The very first thing I did was to fold the camera back, which supposedly shuts it off. Noooooo thank you creepy stalker hackers.

Couldn't be more pleased so far. Had a friend over last night, and he was blown away at Destiny on the PS4. Gave The Hobbit a quick spin on BRD, and oh my........Now I just need a new vid card so all my PC gaming is 4K and at the highest resolution possible.

You got the 850b, right ? Hows she look on regular broadcast cable ?

Hey Tony, I sure did. It really varies by channel. The channels with newer/better cameras look amazing (MLB and NFL Networks come to mind.) Others......not so much.

The Yanks game was on MLB last night and the picture was absurdly beautiful. I don't do much TV beyond sports, Better Call Saul and Top Gear, but it really does seem to depend on the channel's cameras.

Hows the motion lag on the sports channels....non-existent ? Looking at a 900b now for a good price. Still on the fence though, my brain says wait, but my power supply on the Kuro is on the way out.

I didn't see a lick of motion lag to be honest. I've also gamed on it, and noticed no motion lag there either.

You like the look of the speakers on the sides of the 900b? One of the things I've enjoyed in regards to looks with the 850 is the incredibly thin bezel.

I did tell the sales guy, "the last thing I care about are TV speakers, followed closely by 3d." But then again, the TV I got baaaaarely fits on my existing stand. You may have a boatload more room than I, or wall mount or whatever, so the extra space taken up by the speakers may not matter.

The only reason I like the 900b is because some reviews on the 850 claim the tv sound isn't all that great. Whats your opinion on that ?

Well, if you do use TV sound I'd about guarantee the 900 is better, based on what I've heard at a friend's house who does have the 900.

Honestly, the first thing I did was to turn the TV speakers off, flip the Skype (aka creepy stalker) camera back/off and say NO to them receiving data on my viewing habits. So I've honestly never heard my new TV's speakers, hahah.
