Mixing 6 ohm with 8 ohm rated speakers in a 5.1 channel installation

Hello all,
I was wondering about the ramifications of mixing 6 ohm rated speakers as Front channels into a 5.1 speaker configuration where the other speakers are rated for 8 ohms. I have a Yamaha RX-V577 AVR that can set the speaker impedance to 6 ohms, but if I did that, might that be detrimental to to 8 ohm speakers? Or would that just mean that the 8 ohm speakers would have to be configured say, for eaxample +3db greater than the 6 ohm pair? Thanks!

No ramifications whatsoever. My RTA-8Ts are 6ohm and all the rest are 8ohms. Leave the receiver at 8ohms and just balance the speakers.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2
