I can pick one up for $100, without the remote, and kind of assume it would be better than either of the two listed in my sig. Is there any issues for me to check out, like for instance, is this one that has HDMI issues? Thanks for any help.

I can tell you this... I got a TX-NR626, and aside from being the cheapest A/V receiver with two HDMI out it SUCKS. I hate it. I hate the sound, the weak amp, the 1995 look, the STUPID remote and the stupid face of the guy that put it in the box even though I've never seen him and will never porbably and now I feel bad because he's probably a nice guy.

Most likely you dodged a bullet. I got it as a temp because my B&K Ref 50 bit the dust, a tragedy to be sure, and because of the all important dual HDMI out but as soon as I figure out what's replacing the B&K, I'm taking that thing out and shooting it.

LOL. I read my post and I hope I don't piss off any Onkyo fans. But man alive that thing is an anchor.

ANYway. If you're looking for a decent sounding a/v with HDMI try looking for last year's model Denon. They should be on eBay in the 150-200 zone by now. Last year's stuff will also haven't if not all of this year's goodies like ultra HD and Bluetooth and wifi and all that connected stuff.

Oh and o bet I can find a Ref 70 pre that still has a few years left in it. I will then have an excuse to get a bunch of used Crown rack mount amps.

    :)
