Setting up Polk LSi 25 with Pioneer SC 82 Receiver

Hello! I received my very first AV Receiver, and the 2 LSi speakers today! Spent this evening setting them up. All I have is the 2 LSi 25 speakers (Front R and L channels). I have been trying to use the speakers but I don't think the sub-woofers are working. The LED is ON but the AV Receiver only shows R and L channels on the display but nothing about the 2 subs in the speakers? Also, there is a frequency knob at the back of the speakers; not sure what to do with that. Do I have to change setting to make the subs work?

Sorry about the basic question but I am really new to all of this, and just hoping to get the 2 subs working. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks, Mike

The receiver will only register the terminals that are connected to it. In this case, you are only connected to the left and right speaker terminals on the receiver. Page 44 of your receiver manual tells you how to enter the manual setup menu. Page 78 has the receiver default factory settings. You have to change your front speaker settings to large instead of small. I'm not sure if setting the SW function to no, sends the low frequency stuff to the front channels on pioneer receivers. One of the forum pioneer experts will probably chime in. The last page of your LSi 25 manual has the default factory setting for the knobs.

Did you read both the manuals ? How are they hooked up...set up in the receiver ? The subs in the 25's are to augment the speaker also, not act as a quality HT sub. Are you playing a source with some bass to it ? Did you set up the inputs on the receiver ?
