Cell phone question

I'm probably just about the last person on earth under the age of 90 that does not have a cell phone(nor do I want one) so I come to the people that I know have vast experience with them with a question.

The situation is this, I know a married couple that have a relationship that may wind up on the rocks after nearly 30 years together. The husband has bot trusted the wife in a long time and apparently recently he noticed a pattern of voice messages left on her cell phone. Apparently he does not know the message or the caller, only the date and time? The wife says it probably happened shortly after she got this new phone and she accidently some how unknowingly left messages on her phone while learning how to use it......does this make sense?

    Not even a little......

The wife can't accidentally leave messages on her own phone whether it be voicemail of text messages.
Her phone # is specific to her and she cannot change its appearance.
The fact that it is a "new" phone doesnt make a difference either.

If she has received a new phone #, the way carriers recycle numbers is absurd. She could have someone's old number and be receiving calls from someone the prior number holder used to know but never notified them of a changed number.

Either way, the woman is always wrong and i use 3 slices of bread in my PB&Js because im a grown man!!
Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!!

If the Husband thinks something is up, put a P.I. on it.
Or take a day off and not tell her. People doing that stuff normally can't hide it very
well once it comes to light. A cell phone is just one hint. If that's all he
has to go on, then he's not trying very hard.
Or if in Dallas, put "cheaters" on it!!!

He should be able to go online to his phone account and view all the incoming/outgoing calls. If he knows date/time of the Voicemail, he should be able to find the number and see if it is a random thing, or if there is a pattern with that number. He can also see if there are texts coming/going to that number. If any of these are happening, then he can do a reverse number lookup or call the number if needed. Some people don't realize how much evidence a phone leaves behind. If its a smartphone, it also has location services that usually record a history (example google location history). Often these features are enabled by default.

Or call the number and see who the hell is calling his wife so often.

Could be anyone, could be nothing. Not worth getting worked up about.
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant
