The reputation of the Keces DA-151 DAC is legendary. I have owned several DACs over the years and this DAC has one of the best USB implementations I have ever heard in a DAC. It best the USB on my W4S DAC II by a long shot, and equals the USB on my 1,100.00 Firestone Tobby DAC. This DAC just gets everything right. There is no digital grain to the sound, and overall this DAC sounds very smooth. The sound of this DAC will impress you. I am so convinced by it that you can try it out for a week if you want with a full return option. Buyer pays return shipping. Also, included is a cover that I had custom made for it.

Includes all original materials. A couple of years ago I became a member of an MLM company. I got up to the level of presenter where I showed, via this projector that I bought new at Staples, how the company worked. I did nine 1 hour presentations when the company closed down. It has not been used since. It has a self diagnostic on the bulb life and when I recently checked it, the bulb still shows at 100%.

Harmon Kardon AVR-354 List price 899.00. Selling for 295.00 + ship +PP fees

One of the best things about HK, besides their legendary sound, is their underrating of power. HK rates the power on the low side, and many reviewers have determined that they actually spec. out higher than what is listed. HK rates their power per channel with all channels driven. Before I started using the HK’s as pre/pros, I used one of AVR-354s to run 5 x 4ohm Polk Audio Lsi series speakers. I did this for years. Never a problem for the amps in this thing. Never any over heating. A testament to HK’s engineering quality.
I bought this AVR directly from the Harman Kardon store a few years ago. It was a refurbished model. The HK refurbs had a suspicion by many for actually being “A” grade units, but re-boxed as “B” stock units to allow for direct sales to customers thereby cutting out the middle man (dealer) which gained higher profits. There was a consensus that HK refurbs never had the slightest indication of being used hence the suspicion. This AVR was one of the top of the line AVRs that Harman Kardon made. I bought this as an extra in case of a failure of one of my other Harmans. It still has the plastic on the face plate. When I first got it I played it approximately 3 hours just to make sure it functioned properly before I re-boxed it. They listed new for 899.00. I got it for 450.00+shipping directly from HK.

Adcom GFA-7500 THX Power Amp 399.00 plus shipping + 3 % PP fee.

See at: www.flickr.com/photos/86522064@N06/sets/72157640025375095/

This is an extra Adcom GFA-7500 that I had purchased as a backup in case of a failure of one of my other Adcoms. But they never fail. At least, in my case they haven’t. So, I have decided to sell this extra one. This amp had sat for so long unplugged (years) that the filter caps went bad according to Ken Herron at Hi-Tech Service in Nashville. Ken replaced all the caps with upgraded Nichicon Muse Caps that have a higher thermal rating than the original caps. He also replaced 4 transistors that that were ok, but he thought they might as well be replaced while he was inside of it. Bias was reset. Ken charged me right at 175.00 parts and labor to have this done.

Additionally, I am including the schematic on CD for free. Schematics are 25.00 to download at Adcom.

Adcom is one of those highly respected, and legendary power amps that are just awesome to own. They have a rich, and powerful sound leaning towards a more powerful low end . Do the research. The GFA-7500 is one of the best home theater amps out there, and this model is getting harder to find.

A GFA-7500 just sold on Ebay for 425.00 + shipping (see Ebay id# 131433575285) and I doubt seriously that it was anywhere near the condition of this one.

Box weight is 58lbs. Box dimensions 23x12x18. My zip code is 42104. This will allow you to figure out how much shipping will be to you.

Product Information

The 5 channel Adcom GFA-7500 amplifier, with an RMS power of 225W at 4 ohms, plays loud and clean music. With a frequency response of 20 Hz - 20 kHz, this Adcom amplifier plays a wide range of frequencies. Having an audio SNR ratio of 115 dB, this 5-channel amplifier discards unwanted signals, providing clean audio. The total harmonic distortion of this Adcom amplifier is 0.08 %, giving clean audio at all volume levels. The five mono-amplifier design of this 5-channel amplifier prevents inter-channel cross-talk, maintaining sonic integrity. The Adcom GFA-7500 amp, with bridgeable channels, allows you to direct the audio to one channel, producing double the audio output.

Yeah, I am not completely sure about selling it. I have owned a number of DACs, and still do, and the funny thing is that they all have a lot of capability, but I still find myself using USB most of the time. Once I discovered Qobuz streaming, it seems that this is what I listen to the most and that being via USB. Until streaming goes to 24/96 and above I am not sure of the point, for myself, as I do not do HD downloads...... although, I keep thinking I will to justify the expense of some of hese DACs!

If you ever get another DAC, consider getting one with changeable op-amps (FAT DAC, Keces, etc) I have found it incredible how much difference there is in the sound that these things make in a DAC. David Wei, designer of the Keces, told me to change the stock op-amps to the LME 49710NA op-amps. Wow, wow. Did not even sound like the same DAC. Sounded like I just jumped to a 800.00 DAC! It was hard to believe the difference. What's more amazing is how a 1500.00 DAC like my W4S DAC II is not even in the same league with the Keces on USB. You have to do an expensive upgrade to the DAC II to get the quality level of the Keces. Go figure!

Anyway, H9 (Heiny, I think is how you spell his name) is the one who got me interested in the Keces, and probably knows as much or more out them than anyone I know.

I'm afraid this one would kick it off the mountain lol....

You are probably right. I listen thru USB anyway. I remember when the W4S DAC II was delivered by UPS my anticipation bias could not have been any higher. But when I hooked it up, I thought what the hell? I thought it must have been defective. I A/B'd it with the Keces, and the life of the music was back. I went back and forth in disbelief of what I was hearing. I corresponded with several DAC II owners that were of the same opinion. The life was sucked out of the music.....it was flat, and in shades of gray, is the way that I would describe it. It seemed like I remember that there were enough complaints that W4S remedied it by coming out with a W4S DAC II Plus or something. I thing for around 400.00 plus shipping I could get my upgraded, but I did not want to put that much more money in it. The word is probably out, and I bet the DAC II would not bring that much money.

Anyway, it was because of this article: http://www.head-fi.org/t/664270/review-firestone-audio-tobby-dac and another review done by a recording studio that now used the FAT as their reference DAC, that I decided to give the stupidest sounding name of any DAC I had ever heard a try, lol. Who gives the name of a piece of hi-tech gear the name "Tobby", with a companion product called a "Bobby"? What the crap? These Asians were just not in touch with American culture by golly, lol. Anyway, this article, plus the fact that you could op-amp roll with it like the Keces, plus it not selling and being sold for 300>400.00 when the listed for 1100.00 gave me the push I needed to pull the plug and by one. Every once in a while you see a movie that flew under the radar, and you wonder why it was not a box office smash? The Firestone Audio Tobby (I call it the FAT) is a brilliant piece of engineering that has an amazing sound. It's strong suit is is USB implementation. Its USB is on par with the Keces, but with the advantage of upsampling, if so desired, with A/B comparisons of upsampling vs no upsampling, being able to be done on the fly. I will say that I do not hear much, if any difference, in using the upsampling feature except on streaming. For some reason it is more detectable when listening to Qobuz streaming at 16/.44.1. But not with CDs recorded via FLAC at 16/44.1, or with just playing the CDs directly. It's just with streaming that I hear a difference for some reason. If fact, I would say that the only advantage that the FAT has over the Keces is this upsampling feature that seems to work on streaming. A lot of my friends don't hear it. But I do, and yes it is very subtle, but it is there. I upgraded all of the FAT's 7 op-amps to the ones David Wei suggested on the Keces. They did the same thing for the FAT as they did for the Keces. Quite a sound transformation. I would even consider selling the FAT, but the problem is that nobody has heard of, and would be scared to try something that was called a Tobby no matter hos good the reviews. I do not even thing they sell them in this country any more. You can't find them, They flew way down low under the radar and nobody knows about them. All Firestone had to do was to change the name, and I believe it would have made all the difference in it's success. I like the name I gave it called the FAT. FAT DAC would have sold I think, lol.

I was debating back and forth between the W4S DAC II, and the Eastern Electric DAC Plus that was actually cheaper. Looking back, I wished I had gone that route. I should have realized that there was a reason that the W4S was never in any DAC shoot outs, whereas the EE DAC Plus was, and actually came in 2nd only to a Lampizator in a shoot out that was done. Wow, bad judgement can certainly make this even more of an expensive hobby ....and that's for sure!

I was going to say out of the DACs that I have owned so far: Benchmark I, W4S DAC II, Keces. FAT, JP Labs, Simaudio Moon 100D, that the Keces, and the FAT tie for first place for the sound quality by way of USB. I may have to move up to something like an Auralic Vega to get better USB. But that is only a guess as I have never heard one. It may actually not be any better. (I think I am talking myself out of selling the Keces, lol)

Without hearing either, I'd garner a guess that it is. If he is still wanting to sell it, you should be on this bro.

Eh I enjoy the synergy with my DacMagic and cables I have. Usb means a diff cable and synergy.

I've got a new piece incoming soon anyway so I don't need another...
