Please pray for the families of soldiers and Marines killed in helicopter crash

I had a terrible scare this morning.

My brother Neal called me and asked me if my son Gabe, a Marine LCPL, was OK after he heard about a helicopter training accident on the news that killed 4 Army soldiers and 7 Marines this morning near Fort Walton Beach Florida where Gabe is stationed.

I tried to call and text Gabe, but no reply. I went to work but could not think straight.

He finally called me to tell me he was OK. He said the whole base is distraught.

I was relieved, but realized that 11 other families were receiving the worst possible news today.

Please pray for the families of these brave young people. They only lived short lives, and suffered horrible tragic deaths, while in training to serve their country.

I think on this type of situation often. Oldest son in ROTC with the Army, youngest son going to boot camp for the Marines this summer. What did the youngest son pick for a "field"? Recon of all things, he'll probably be able to make it as well... I think all parents are super proud of their son/daughter in the military but have to be prepared for the worst. I, obviously, have never lived a situation like this and hope I never do but realize the very real possibility is there...

Is it too late to talk your youngest into an ROTC program first? I would not join the military without having my butter-bars if I had to do it again... and imagine having to salute your brother... uhgg!

Thank you sir for raising them right...
