Hello everyone. new here and i have a problem i bet you guys can help me solve. the main issue i am having is muffled dialog on tv shows/movies and booming bass. i have messed with the settings over and over and over again on my receiver and i just cant get it right. i use this setup for only movies/gaming/tv. here's my setup:
receiver= yamaha rx-a1010
a polk audio psw10 sub
4 polk audio tsi100 bookshelf speakers mounted at ceiling level and tilted
2 polk audio monitor60 series II floor-standing speakers (front left/right)
and a Polk Audio CS2 Series II Center Channel Speaker at sitting level below TV
i have the crossover set to 80 and the sub cranked all the way up to 120 (found some advice on here. trying to research this! but im lost)
my questions are; settings. settings. settings! what do i set in the receiver for band/gain, freq/gain, Q/gain etc. i ran the ypao calibration and then manually set all the speakers for small instead of large. any help would be awesome. also im fairly new at this so please go easy on me if i sound like an idiot.

hm i wonder. i still have the original "binding plates" or whatever they are called on the back of the floor-standing ones, maybe they arent making a connection to the tweeters. so lower the dial on the sub or the crossover in the setting of the receiver?

the crossover is set to 80 in the receiver under the subwoofer section, i hope this is what you are asking. on the back of the sub there is a dial labelled "low pass" and it can be set from 80-160 right now its on 80
