Advice on Fronts... RTI10/12 or A7/A9
Hi all, looking on some advice for my upcoming lifechanging purchase of front speakers for my home theatre. Right now I have a CSI a6 center, FXI a6 rears, a bic f12 sub, and the Sony Str-Dh750 receiver. Been looking for a good sale on the a7's or a9s but haven't seen them on Polk Ebay Direct. However the RTI10s are available for 525 and the 12's for 799. Any recommendations? One thing I am specifically wondering about is whether the 10's/12's will be timbre matched to my CSI a6. Thanks

You're not likely to find any significant retail discounts for the A7's or A9's yet--the line is too new and there's still plenty of new inventory of the older RTi8's and RTi10's. The CSiA6 is a timbre match for both lines, so no worries there. But if aesthetics is a concern, the new line is much easier on the eyes IMHO.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but that 17# AVR is not nearly powerful enough to drive any of the large towers without risk of damage. And it doesn't have pre outs to add an amp either.
Welcome to CP though... -

Yes I was worried about this, I know back in November or so they had refurb a7's for 599 a pair I believe or something close to it... Polk also had a sale recently 50% off second speaker so something like that pushes them down to 749... Im about ready to pull the trigger on the 10's but I feel that little voice telling me to hold out and snap up the 7's when any discount comes along... -

Thanks... Yes from what I understand and my research the receiver I have now would be "workable" for the 10's or A7's, I would indeed need to upgrade receiver and amp in the very near future for the 12's or A9's...

Thanks all for the help, after a final week of pondering and exhaustive research I just ordered the RTI8's... Since I already have a sub and don't have external amp I figure these will be great FOR NOW... Now Ill focus my intentions on building a new, higher end system piece by piece
