Lsi25's with a dedicated Micropro3000 sub

I am looking for opinions as to how I have my system configured. Somewhat of a newbie to the hobby, and obsessed. My equipment is as follows
Onkyo TX-NR3010 with Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room correction
Lsi25 towers(2)
LsiC
LsiFx (2)
Micropro3000
Blue Jeans cables
The Onkyo has 2 sub outs. I am connecting subout 1 to the Micropro LFE, and subout 2 to the Lsi25's LFE. Jumpers are not being used on the Lsi25's. Crossovers for the towers, center and surrounds are set at 80. While Audyssey is pretty impressive in what it does, I am not real thrilled with the sound, in particular the bass. I was hoping to get some feedback from the vast knowledge that some of you here possess. I am using PLII Movie for movies and PLII Music for music. Any comments or input would be most appreciated.

I guess what I am looking for is a possible alternative hook-up method. The method that I described above is recommended by Audyssey. I know that some of you will say that you prefer the Lsi15's to the 25's. I understand that and I maybe would as well, but I own the 25's and am trying to maximize what I have. I also plan to add an external amp, faced with a mind boggling choice of amps. Recommendations would be most appreciated.

Since you didn't say exactly what it is about the bass you're not happy about I'll take a guess. By using the 25's subs and the MicroPro you could be experiencing cancellation issues. Try using just the MicroPro.
Also, the calibration program should be used to get a baseline, fine tuning should be done after using your ears and an SPL meter.Political Correctness'.........defined

Have you tried Dolby or DTS?Political Correctness'.........defined

Thank you F1! If I use the Micropro only for sub out, then I would have to connect the 25's differently, or set the crossover lower than 80, right? My main interest is music over movies. The sound I am getting just sounds "muddy" for the bass, not defined or with punch.

Dskip, with my current set up, I believe the absence of jumpers is correct, since sub out on the Onkyo is going to LFE on the 25's. But, an alternate hook up may dictate using the jumpers, or so I believe.

Reinstall the jumpers, remove the LFE connection, keep the crossover point at 80Hz. Run the program again and see where that gets you.Political Correctness'.........defined

Thank you F1. I will do that and report back. Will also try Dolby and DTS for movies.

Also running all those 4 ohm speakers off a receiver isn't helping your cause either. For music, run it in pure direct mode which btw what are you using as a source for music ?HT SYSTEM-

Definitely looking for amp suggestions. While I know Emotiva is popular and low cost, relatively speaking, I am understanding that it is not the way to go for music. For music, currently just a Panny Blu Ray and Panorama thru net, but will be purchasing Oppo very soon. Regarding amp, need suggestions on manufacturer and number of channels. My Onkyo does have decent power for what it is, so may not need 5 channel?

F1, I did as you suggested and the results are better. Seems that using LFE on the 25's along with a dedicated sub is a nightmare to get it right, but your way seems to be much better, although it is somewhat tricky to get the bass correct. Audyssey set the 25's, center and surrounds at 40, but I changed to 80. I need an amp. Any suggestions?

I had lsi 25's with my dual ultras, I tried all hook up methods, and the worst was using the 25's without the jumpers and using lfe jack. The amps would cycle on and off during low level listening. The recommended set up in the owners manual is jumpers in, and frequency knob on the 25's set to factory default, I found this works best, and the amps don't click on and off. I would set to 80hz as f1nut stated. When you get it right it sounds great. There was too much buggering around with those towers, always fiddling with those dam knobs.2 channel:

In hindsight, I should have gone with the 115's, but it is what it is. Thank you for the input mikeyb128. Do you also recommend to set the LFE cross for sub at 120?

I had years of thorough enjoyment out of my lsi 25's. Do you mean on the sub itself? I believe you turn it to max, which IIRC the max setting is lfe on that sub, thats what you want. So all speakers set to 80 and on your sub set to lfe. once you install the jumpers you can certainly try those towers in full range mode (all other speakers set to 80) and see which one you like best.2 channel:

The merlin tool on svs website also recommends setting those towers to 60, you could experiment with that as well. but with my set up 80 worked best. but I had quite a bit more sub that you do2 channel:

Thank you mikeyb128! I do understand selling to max on the on the back of the dedicated sub. How would I set the dedicated sub within the Onkyo?
