Anyone here with experience on the Mcintosh MCD1100?

Just looking to see if anyone here has experience on this CDP... seems like a good reference grade one. Has USB digital inputs which I could use.

Heard the MCD550 and was pretty good, but I want to push it further.

    Well if you wana push it then go for it friend. I have not had this player in my room but have heard it at my local. Yes its a nice player and have not heard it head to head with anything in the price range. Would this keep up with an MSB ? I dont think it sounds as good through the focal setup I heard both on.

    I was looking at an Esoteric K1 but it have a good deal on an MCD1100.

    I heard the little brother 550 on a set of BW 802 diamonds and the sound was stellar. Especially once I injected my Cary SLP05 preamp into the mix.

    No experience with the Mac your asking about, just wanted to say "hey". One of our other members, Dk, has the Cary 306 professional which he's been rockin' for awhile now and really digs it. Since you have the SLP 05 pre, may be a good match also.

    Nah man, the Summits are all sold... the plinius is gone. I actually sold everything I had in 2008. Rebought the Cary 05 preamp and also bought a pair of the Cary 211FE monoblocks.

    I don't have a CDP yet, but was thinking either the top shelf Mcintosh 1100 as above or the Esoteric K01, but 1100 is half the price of the Esoteric and is cool looking... lol.

    Speakers right now is a toss up - thinking 800 Diamonds or the SF Strads. Trying to pin it down. I have a deposit on a pair of 800 Diamonds and I know they sound goooooooood....

    I have a dedicated stereo room now, finally... no more of that cinder block dorm room that I had back in the day.
