New TV Stand is Done!

Hello,

I got the new stand done and in today. Before it looked a little funny gli7pfzx851u.jpg

Big TV on a stand that was for a 32" CRT. I had to give up my CSI5 for a CSI-A4 but it was worth it. Center bubble on the level and enough room for all my goodies and a space for an amp later. I only have 60" on that wall so I could not build it with my lack of woodworking skills to fit my CSI5 and all my goodies u3knlzzi2i4l.jpg

So I am into this for about $400, used Lowes red oak plywood (which sucks big time). Never buy wood at Lowes or Home Depot again (Chinese junk). Borrowed tools from my dad and a friend. This took me 3 Saturdays and a tone of polyurethane.

Time for me to go enjoy a movie :)
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

    Nice work!

Also just wanted to suggest pulling the speakers out so they're flush with the front of the stand.

Tried that, speaker on the left got too close to the walkway

here is one thing I forgot to put in.

If you notice the receiver has a ton of space, yes that is for a reason. With thumb screws I can have the top off in seconds for it's cleaning,

So far my neighbor wants to buy it from me, the in-laws came over to try to make fun of it but were impressed and the wife digs it.

The CSI-A4 can hold it's own, I do notice a little bit of difference but not much. Glad I have a good sub.

Great job! Makes me want to redo the one I built many years ago (it was my first woodworking project, couldn't find the dimensions I wanted at Ikea!). The colour is beautiful.

My son, he started bowling at 6 years old. Bowled his first league 300 @ 12 years old now at 15 I don't count them anymore. 10 or 11 in a row for him is at least once a month. He dragged my wife and I into bowling a few years ago for jr adult league. I enjoy it once a week but I am not that good like he is.

I used to bowl a lot in the 70's early 80's. Bowling is one recreational sport that has declined dramatically in the past couple of decades. Because of high-tech equipment and synthetic lanes averages have skyrocketed, lessening the need for good spare-making skills. In the past, the bowler's ability to adapt to changing lane conditions was not as easy as reaching for a different bowling ball, it was based on experience and skill. I think bowling even laser bowling etc. does not appeal to the majority of teens these days, too slow... boring... whatever else they don't like about it. I still enjoy bowling as recreation, watching it as a sport, not really. What's exciting about someone throwing 8+ strikes each game. The future looks bleak for the growth of bowling IMHO. I come from a family of bowlers. Sounds like your son really enjoys it. Good for him.

Couldn't wait and bought a CSi3. Got a good deal locally, but the speaker has a bump on the rear edge. For now, it will do till I move and get a stand that fits CSi5.
