Question about a 1955 DEMO LP Info.? Value?

I own the 1955 Columbia Demo LP shown here. Sorry for the dust on the LP, it's been stored for a long time in a poly sleeve. It is very shiny and has no visible scuffs or scratches. I have tried searching various web sites and can not find any information regarding this or other similar demo LPs of that era. This one has a fine assortment of songs. Just wondering if anyone else has any information on these. Thanks.

Don't know about this particular issue - closest I could find is this Discogs entry:

I usually try Popsike.com or Discogs or Ebay (searching past history) for vinyl pricing.

In the real world of vinyl sales, this has a value of a buck or two. Tops.

Such albums (especially from Capitol, IME) are quite common & wide spread. They're not "Demos" in the sense of test pressings; they're promotional albums -- freebies sent to radio stations and DJs as marketing tools.

As a quasi-related aside, one of my very favorite Christmas albums is a 1957 Capitol promo called "Fred Waring Presents Christmas Around the World". We had this as a leftover from my father's broadcasting days. It was a promo for a bunch of holiday albums that Capitol that year. At this point, I actually own copies of most of those, too. :-P

Thanks, GG and MRH. I didn't expect it to be much either, just never saw one this old. I've had it for years, it was free and it's the year of my birth, so I'll keep it.
