Hey Skip, thought I would show a picture of my work area at home. This is where all the magic happens and where I would recap your amp.

No rush man, take your time. A week, a month, a year there is no time limit.

I am completely jealous of that space right now.

When I have time, I'm going to try and bring you that Mitsu and maybe a Jolida amp I need repaired. The Jolida was a big reason I wanted to learn to solder and troubleshoot - the labor costs to repair were extremely high, but I'm getting tired of it sitting in the closet.
I totally went through my Jolida JD1000RC to find a cold solder joint that was putting the amp into protection. Worked flawlessly after that.

Nice! The only thing I have around my work bench is alcohol.

Very nice. That reminds me of my days when I was an electronic technician.
Here is the workbench I used for replacing the tweeter on my left Magico S5.
Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes
Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables
Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
Three 20 amp circuits. -
Thats a very organized and proper work bench. No need to run to Radio Shack for you. Perhaps you're part to blame for them going BK. Lol. But on a serious note, what kinds of repairs do you tackle? Is it a hobby or your livelihood? Just curious.
It is a hobby but I do have an electronics background. I do a little bit of everything. I have built tube amps, tube Linestage, chip amps, and starting a phono preamp as soon as I have all the parts. I have repaired receivers, solid state and tube amps, preamps, turntables, speakers, and more. I do some for friends but mainly it is for me. -

I'm in Texas. I'm the guy who sent you the aluminum side panels for your amp. -
I remember that, but forgot from where...
If you ever get to CA... look me up, as I owe you a beer or two.

You are welcome here anytime. The guest room is always open. What model is the Jolida? What is wrong with it? -
