Up for sale are my beloved Electromotions by Martin Logan. They're in mint condition and come with original boxes and packaging, power supplies, and dust covers. Covers were always kept on when not in use. They are one year old.

Full disclosure: One dust cover has an L-shaped 6" tear.

I really don't want to ship these so I prefer local sale. I'm located on Long Island, NY, in western Suffolk county.

Asking price is $1,650 for the pair for Club Polk members. PM any questions. Thanks for viewing!

Are you upgrading to bigger electrostats?

No, I've decided that I like my newly upgraded SDAs better. I never really got the MLs set up correctly mostly due to the restricted space so perhaps they will sound better in another home.

Although tricky to place the rewards are heavenly, these speakers really reward and reflect the gear being used. Shipping is manageable with these and works out to an average of $55 per speaker for shipping due to the new re-designed packaging. I sold my old source se speakers a while back and offered free shipping and it worked out to me paying $328 because of the special handling charges lol.

The price to performance make these my favorite speakers of all time. The are miles better than the $2000 Source that had smaller panels and come close to the huge Theo's and big Vista's I have in my room right now as I have A/B'd this.

Great deal guys and if you want to hear that haunting reproduction of the human voice then this tech is way better than maggies up in the top end. If a maggie owner does not agree then sorry but I went to a friends house from my local audiophile club and bought his entire cary/ maggie audio rig

GLWTS. Which SDA's do have that you prefer?
"Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer

SDA 2B with upgraded crossovers and TL mod, drivers dynamatted, Black Hole 5 behind the drivers. When it gets a little warmer out I'm going to veneer the outsides and install spikes. I believe I'll have these speakers for a long time.

Anyway, I'm hoping my pricing is fair. Need to move these before the wife moves ME.

  • Knowing nothing about ML except that there is that mylar film that acts I think like a diaphragm and the bases well handle the bass. Besides high ceilings and a good amp what's needed for these. I never liked the look of Maggies to me they looked like Chinese screen dividers which you also need a tall big room.Like you I'll stick to my modded 2Bs.

Martin Logan is an electrostatic metal 'grill', not mylar - they don't like dust, so the covers are a must if you aren't using them. Magnepan uses the mylar.

Not sure what the material is, exactly, but there's a clear plastic-like material between the grills, or "stators." The metal is not the medium, the filament is.

My understanding is that the stators impart a static charge to the mylar in between them to produce the sound, whereas Maggies use electric current between opposing magnets to drive the mylar.

People are just broke nowadays. :) Really the only nicer used speakers in this price range I've seen move recently was closer to 1/3 the retail price.

Agreed... not like the old days when people had a little bit of money left over.

I am open to reasonable offers. I don't really have room to store these anywhere otherwise I'd just hold on to them for a while.
