Pioneer CS77a beautiful walnut cabinets with perfect latticework grills

Just picked up a pair with near perfect walnut cases and perfect latticework grills. Ebay has them selling for lots of money. $100.00 to $400.00. Reviews do not favor them much? I can only one to play. Very large intricate crossovers for how old they are? Anyone know the scoop on these? My Monitor 10a's have perfect cabinets and vinyl. Maybe if these are Kabuki speakers I could swap the tens into these beautiful cabinets and and have looks that match the sound? As always thanks for your thoughts on these. D

After reading your signature line I'm wondering why on earth would you be messing with these things? Trying to get good sound out of them is an excercise in futility. Yes they may have nice looking cabs but don't let that fool you............it's their one and only redeeming quality.

Those are super clean. Very nice. Years ago i had a pair of Kenwoods & they looked similar & they were great speakers & rocked. Back when all i cared about was how loud they would go

I remember these speakers from back around '71 or so? Definitely before the HPM days. Anybody remember if Radio Shack rebadged the CS77A to sell in their store?

Wow those didn't last long. What happened? At any rate you did good to send them on their way for 10 times what they're worth and now you also have a reference point of how bad a speaker really can sound.
