Any of you that own either of these speakers should pop out the PR's and look inside at the bottom corners for loose or missing sealing glue. Any open cracks will affect the bass response as the cabinet needs to be as air tight as possible. I found that I had some loose/missing glue, so I sealed the areas with clear silicone, you might want to do the same.

Henry is right, this would apply to the 8T's also. Thanks for bringing that up.

Wouldn't it basically apply to any old speaker, brain surgeons? I think that it would be silly not to open up an older speaker and at least look around.....you might find a body part....or gold tooth.

    Jesse,
Someone leave some 11's on your doorstep?

Well Mark, I'm not talking about any old speaker, am I? The construction of the RTA cabinet seems to lend itself to this problem, that's why I felt others might be interested. I've looked inside the SDA's and a few other speakers, but saw no such problem. Now, just because you're my buddy I'm going to do you a favor while I have the silicone out. I'm going to caulk the living **** out of those DQ-10's for you. No need to thank me, I mean that's what friends are for right!?!

Tour, some 15TL's showed up one day. I've got no idea what I'm going to do with them, but I've got to spruce them up some while they reside with me. :D

Found that problem in mine when I first got them. Also found a another problem on the front inside right of one.Kept hearing a hard rattle and found there was no glue in the joint from top to bottom of the cabinet, I glued the joint and put a clamp on from the outside until the glue could set. Now I have no rattle, I will reinspect mine as I cannot remember if looked in that location or not. Thanks for the info jesse.

HWM - Stu was probably directly responsible for that problem....we should yell at him about that :D

FU1Nut - Hey you leave my goods alone....you should be happy something non-Polk is in your house :D

I think anything with internal baffles, would benefit from a peek as you have suggested. Excellent suggestion....fantastic...dont touch the speakers.....outstanding...unreal.....stay away....tremendous.....what speakers?
