Pioneer AVI59

Listening to Boston describe his episode in another thread reminded me of something. I have a Pioneer avi 59 sitting in a closet doing nothing. Well, doing nothing for a reason.

Last Christmas I had the wifes family over. Always do, nothing new....everyone brings their dogs and they all have a blast playing. Never any problems either....except this time. My one nephew has an Akita, beautiful dog with an easy going personality unlike most associated with the breed. The kid did a great job raising him to be around people and other dogs.

So we are all watching something on TV, I forget what, and this Akita walks calmly over to the TV, lifts his leg and takes a piss on the electronics. I was like the Flash on cocaine, but too late. He hit square on the Pioneer front face....which wasn't in use at the time anyway. Wiped it off best I could and unplugged it to be safe. Let sit for a week but when I went to test it out the tray won't open. F%$K me....tried prying just a touch, nothing. Powers up fine, just when you go to open the tray either manually or with the remote, nothing.

So here's the jist, any of you yutes who work on this stuff want it for a song, it's yours. It's a great sounding unit even if you only use it as a cdp. Talk to me, maybe we can trade a cable or something your not using.
