Hi all new member here. About 6 months ago i was given a set of polk audio sda2 speakers
. i am having a very hard time finding out what model they are. I can tell you that each enclosure has (2) sl2000 tweeters
and (3) mw6501 drivers
, and where made in jan/feb 1986. all the info i have been finding is saying these parts are not correct. . i am also looking to find a replacement mw6501. one is locked up in the right box, but everything else works. thank you in advance.

you have the original SDA2 no A no B just plain ol SDA2. Keep eyes on Ebay but I believe Polk still sell a new version of the 6501 plays the same just looks a little different as the VC leads are now under the dustcap and you will need to cut the rubber surround for the screws so they don't pull the surround

sda2 came with sl1000 tweeters, not the sl2000 and 6600x series drivers.

MW 6600 was in the first batch then they went to 6501. My SDA1 signature was the same way they used in mine a 6501 for dimensional woofer and mw6600 for the other 3 so I kept it that way. So to the OP you can look for both on ebay BUT there is a good chance that they could get locked up in shipping.

that is what i was just reading, but i also found a nifty little jig to fix the 6501 i have. i will try it first and if all else fails i will buy one set of the new 6501 drivers, and replace one from each box. now should i remove the magnet from the locked up driver and leave it in the box connected or disconnected.

leave it the box DISCONNECTED is what I'd do until you get a replacement. Make sure the leads cannot touch or you'll need something a lot more pricey...I'd personally use another set of speakers until fixed.
