From what I have read from Music Direct and some other web site, I hear that if you have a Ortonfon 2m cartridge you can change the 2M Red to a 2M Blue just by changing the stylus to a 2m blue stylus. And that any 2M stylus will work with any 2m cartridge.
Just curious if anyone has tried this and if this was true!

Now I'm curious too!Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

I have the 2M black on my modified Rega P3/24 and I love it. I think it's the best buy out there now.

So the main difference is the stylus, and the red & blue are 5.5mV and the black & bronze are 5mV.2 ch- Polk CRS+ * Vincent SA-31MK Preamp * Vincent Sp-331 Amp * Marantz SA8005 SACD * Project Xperience Classic TT * Sumiko Blue Point #2 MC cartridge

I thought that was what you meant, and that is how I took it. not to mix the red & Blue with the Bronze & Black. as I notice the spec's had enough difference to not mix & match the 2 set's.
Thanks for all the help I may someday pick up a blue stylus for my red. seen a blue stylus for $2042 ch- Polk CRS+ * Vincent SA-31MK Preamp * Vincent Sp-331 Amp * Marantz SA8005 SACD * Project Xperience Classic TT * Sumiko Blue Point #2 MC cartridge

How many hours are on your Red?
I found it needed about 40+ to take away the harshness that was there, the Blue just open up the top end a little more, more airy.ATC SCM40's,VTL TL 2.5 Preamp,PSB Stratus Goldi's,McCormack DNA 500,McCormack MAP-1 Preamp,Pro-Ject Xtension 10 TT,Ortofon Cadenza Red/Nordost RedDawn LS Speaker cables, Bryston BDP-2, Bryston BDA-2,PS Audio AC-3 power cables -
the red has probably 200-300 hours maybe2 ch- Polk CRS+ * Vincent SA-31MK Preamp * Vincent Sp-331 Amp * Marantz SA8005 SACD * Project Xperience Classic TT * Sumiko Blue Point #2 MC cartridge

IMO the blue is a nice upgrade over the red. More bass, less noise and no inner grove distortion. The red was nice but the blue out performed it in every way. I upgraded to the blue after about a month using the red.

If you can swing the $$ go for the Bronze it's much better overall than the Red or Blue.ATC SCM40's,VTL TL 2.5 Preamp,PSB Stratus Goldi's,McCormack DNA 500,McCormack MAP-1 Preamp,Pro-Ject Xtension 10 TT,Ortofon Cadenza Red/Nordost RedDawn LS Speaker cables, Bryston BDP-2, Bryston BDA-2,PS Audio AC-3 power cables

I have a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon -with Acrylic platter upgrade -Speed box S and Graham Slee phono amp.
I thinking of the blue because then I just get the Stylus...if I go with the Bronze then I think I have to get the Cartridge and go thru remounting one. and do I want to add a $420 Cartridge to my TT compared to a $200 upgrade for the Blue.2 ch- Polk CRS+ * Vincent SA-31MK Preamp * Vincent Sp-331 Amp * Marantz SA8005 SACD * Project Xperience Classic TT * Sumiko Blue Point #2 MC cartridge

I seen a few Pro-Ject TT with a Ortofon Silver Cartridge on them, it is basically a 2M red cartridge with special silver wiring, I was wondering what stylus it used so I sent email to Ortofon.
I got a reply back right away, they did say the silver cartridge is made specially for Pro-ject only... and you would replace the stylus with either a 2M Red or Blue stylus but they suggested that the Blue was a better option but I don't think he told me what was already on it.2 ch- Polk CRS+ * Vincent SA-31MK Preamp * Vincent Sp-331 Amp * Marantz SA8005 SACD * Project Xperience Classic TT * Sumiko Blue Point #2 MC cartridge
