Boat load of 14AWG power cables

I've got a large number of these cables that
came w/ the computers over time that aren't used.
Recycle or save for DYI?

They are great if you get another computer, just don't use the computer for audio. Don't use the cables for audio equipment either, unless you have no choice. Crummy sound is better than no sound.

Computers are built to the lowest cost possible by using the cheapest parts they can find.

Shhhh....there's one or 2 computer guys around here who claim there is no difference between computer grade and audio grade. They may take offense to that statement. ;)

  • I wouldn't toss them, they have to be better than the stock 18awg cables that comes with a lot of audio equipment. Don't they?
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

Or he can use them to tie up that trouble maker neighborhood kid to a tree and throw raw chicken livers at him. Just a thought....I like to re-purpose stuff.

I use speaker wire when working on the car....great for securing calipers to suspension or other parts when doing a brake job. My favourite was using the wires.to hang my new calipers in mid air in garage (kind of like meat) from chains in the roof for bikes, when I was painting them.
