See them on my local CL quite often...

I've heard that. So far the closest I've seen on CL was Las Vegas, and I'm in Tucson. Hard to justify spending more than 30% of the speaker cost on shipping. And that's without considering the concern I have about sending a complete stranger money with the hope that he will actually ship it and that it's not blown or otherwise destroyed. Of course, I suppose posting here doesn't exactly alleviate any of those concerns, but I guess I'd trust a member more than the random clist poster. Thanks though.

I hear you StrypedW. , eventually you'll find someone selling one close to you. Heck, I've got 2 CS400i speakers ( don't ask, for awhile there I went through a phase where I was buying used speakers like crazy) for backups to my CS400, this baby just won't quit, it must be 20 years old ???

Thanks guys. Budget is around $100 but I'd like that to include shipping if that's how I have to go. I will be patient for something near here to show up I think.
Not to hijack my own thread, but we've been using rt1000is as fronts and rt25is as rears with no center. But dialog gets so muddied and muted in most movies I assume we needed a center channel to even it out. But then, I know a lot of movies are being mixed more aggressively lately too, so I'm not so sure it'll make that big a difference. Anyone change from a 4.0 to 5.0 for this reason and like the switch?
And before I hear it, no I don't want to add a sub, the 1000s do just fine for my tastes. We have two small kids, so any movie watching is done at low volumes, hence the trouble with dialogue getting muted. I'm constantly reaching for the remote whenever any character reaches for a gun.
Truth be told, I was pretty happy with just the 25is, at least for music. Those things seemed to have a much better soundstage and seemed more crisp, but I can't bring myself to put them back as fronts unless I switch to a 2.1 setup. Maybe I should just try to swap the rt1000is for a decent sub? -
Sounds like your hands are tied on being able to crank your system, lol, I get that and understand how it can be. You bring up the idea about getting a sub and that you don't need excessive dbs, I was going to suggest avoiding subs below $500.00 new. Look for a good, used 12" or 15" sealed sub (SVS,HSU, PSA(if they ever made older sealed subs),Martin Logan, Velodyne ,REL sub for around $500 or so. At all cost avoid Epik Legend subs, many had bad amps ,plus company is no longer around.
