Are you just jigging or do you set out traps. Up here we can usually set out 5. Whats in the bucket ? I use shinners/daise or smelts. Enjoy your day..

Jigging (4 poles to boot), hand auger, chisel, sweat pants......dear god man. You're a stud!
I'll probably head out next weekend with my Mass regulated 5 tip-ups. No hand tools here, all power. Time is fish/beer.Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -
Looks like more fun than I'm allowed to have.

Its a safety precaution you fill a laundry bottle 1/4 way full of sudsy water then glue the cap shut tie a 50 ft nylon rope to it in case somebody goes through the ice you toss them that laundry detergent bottle it floats they grab it you pull them out, at least it's spose to work that way haven't had the pleasure of pulling somebody out yet. In the yellow bucket are Crappie minnows and yes we were jigging along the tree lines where the ice only was about 3 inches thick that's where they hide out in the afternoon farther out the ice is about 7 inches where there are no trees to block the wind.
We do use tip ups for walleye and Northern, but today we were after crappie we only got a 12 keeper Crappie and a few nice blue gill. Not enough for a fish fry tonight so we are going back out in the morning to get some more in hopes to be back have em fileted and fried in time for the Packer Seahawks game.Home Theater

I think thats a great idea. Hope you never have to use it too. I carry first aid kit & you name it in my pack basket & sled. Always bring enough food/drink for everyone & dress warmer than need be..

I decided to miss the Green Bay game figured it would of been a blow out 1 12 inch Crappie and a few blue gill does not make a fish fry got out there this morning the honey spot was not producing, funny how the hot spots in the summer are not the hot spot during winter after dragging the auger around and drilling several holes we found a spot.
Got a couple nice crappie 10s and a bunch more bluegill rushed home watched the OT part of thple of Shiner Bockse Green Bay Game (sorry Packer Fans) go Ice fishing next weekend. I fileted them up and here is a plate full dipped in Zattaran fish fry mix going t woash them down with a couple of Shiner Bocks, fried taters and green beans from the garden mmm mmm good.

Looks good, Steve, glad you're catchin' something out there. Beautiful little pup you got there!
-
Thanks Terry it appears we are sitting this one out today it's snowing which don't bother us but the 30 mph wind gusts do the shanty is hard to keep tied down in those winds, so it's taters and eggs and fresh fish for breakfast, oh and tunes gotta get the grandson educated on the classics. He is the one that wussed out this morning.
Yeah Trapper was a rescue pup the A-hole that owned him kept him locked up in a cage that was way to small for him and would leave him out in the elements so we took him in, can't wait to take him up to the cabin in the Northwoods this summer he will have a blast, he is a lucky pup don't think he cared for the animal shelter much.Home Theater

Good on you, Steve, for doing the rescue thing and giving that little guy a new leash on life! The return on investment for you both will be immeasurable!
I've gotten into the habit of catching a Saturday morning TV show called Lucky Dog. In the show, a guy named Brandon McMillan takes a dog that's pretty much in a hopeless situation from a local shelter and takes them to his "Lucky Dog Ranch" where he trains them and then places them in a good environment where they can thrive. It's a really cool show and gives viewers like me a pretty good feeling about mankind for a while. All those interested in that sort of thing might want to check it out. It's on one of the major networks. I've also learned a thing or two about better ways to treat and train my dogs from it.
