Hello all!
For sale is my home theater projector. This model has had many great reviews and was a best seller.
Here's the scoop.
I purchased this used with only around 200 hours on it. I've used it for approximately 800 more hours so the projector and the bulb have just under 1,000 hours. The bulb is rated for 4,000 hours, so plenty of life left.
This is my first projector and I was stunned by the quality HD picture. It has served me well over the past couple years.
This projector does have an issue, however.
I want to be very clear on this and will be selling the projector as-is with no returns.
After about 8 months the color red started acting weird. It seemed a bit deeper that it should be and when the screen was all red (like during a commercial) the red was so intense it would turn orange in some spots. I was fine with this as it wasn't too critical. The red during regular programming was a bit deeper like I said, but wasn't really distracting...and I don't watch commercials anyway.
Within a week of the red becoming a deeper color...the whole screen would randomly start flickering a gray/green scale making the image unwatchable. This was not cool so I hit up google. Turns out this is a fairly common issue with this model caused by the color wheel getting gunked up.
I found a very helpful and simple to follow thread on the solution. Check it out here... http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Clean-Dismantle-Inside-Optoma-HD20-Projector-To-Stop-Colour-Wheel-Flickering
I followed the steps and it took me less than a half-hour. Problem fixed.
I've used it for about another year, and the problem came back. I've been wanting to upgrade anyways and I really don't feel like cleaning it again.
So I am posting this for sale at what I think is a good price reflecting the issues explained above. Please understand that I am trying to be straightforward here, and please ask any questions before purchase as, again, I won't take returns on this.
Used units without this issue are selling in the $300-$500 range. Not working for parts only units are selling for up to $200.
I would like to sell this for $200 plus shipping and paypal.
This is a great projector with great reviews and a great image. If you don't mind doing a little work then this is a great value.
I'll post some stock pics and let me know if you would like pictures of the actual unit. Original packaging and remote included and item will be packed very safely.
Thanks,
Paul

Paul is good people. Buy with confidence. Think how many people wouldn't have disclosed the red color issue or offered it at this low a price.
If I was able to make this work (which I can't for WAF and setup reasons) I'd snatch this up for when you wanna show off and use a regular Tv for standard viewing."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Thank you, Dan.
And I'm actually going to drop this to $175 shipped and paypal conus.
Easy way to see if a projection setup would work for you.
Service it yourself or even send it in at this price.

I tried cleaning this again and the issue came back after a couple hours of viewing.

Then I'll probably list it on flea bay as is.
