I just took the grills off of some old T15's that I hooked up to try out for front presence speakers and the center dome of the driver appears to be melted. I cant remember what I was using them for but it was probably with an old Yamaha system from way back. Has anyone seen this before?

Just replace it with a good one. Crank it up high & see if that was the problem. then repeat as needed

I am curious what they sound like by themselves now. They are making some kind of sound still . Maybe I should give the presence thing another chance with some speakers that aren't char broiled? At any rate I got my 50 bucks worth out of them and didnt start a fire lol.

Which is why they are junk now, cost to repair would be more than they are worth. Might make a good planter box lol.

Currently I'm running only one 9 off of my changer, one woofer wired right and one left, laid on its side. So had to be seven I would guess to make up for a pair.

You sir should be stripped of your license to drive Polks, or any speaker for that matter, for speaker abuse. Seriously, is there a problem with your amp?

My LSi15's, that I bought used had been driven pretty hard. One XO had burnt resistors and the board was toasted. The other XO was heavily modified. I suspect tweeters were replaced and they came with 2 brand new XO's. They sound excellent now.

Thread doesn't have a recent followup to confirm that the "full range" drivers in the Bose speakers were or were not badly blown.
