It looks like one of those speakers that came with the Onkyo mini/executive stereo thing. There was a recent thread about it somewhere here.

They don't look exactly teh same but I do know that the RT105's for that Onkyo system did change in first couple years of that units model runs.

That's a Polk Mini-Monitor, never designated as the '2nd' release, but it was. Polk's original mini was short-lived in the mid 70's, right at Polks start. Matt may have still been in grad school at the time.

That model you see there is from the early to mid 80's. I had a pair about 2 yrs ago, and sold them to a forum member - I can't remember who it was.

    Cheers,

Seriously? That looks like an early 90's cone there and that tweeter is teh same one that came on a set of Polk Audio computer speakers I have from an SGI computer that dates from about 1998.

Yeah, I may be off on the dates a little, but that little mylar tweet has been around FOREVER. Not a lick different from the $1.25 job that is common is 'less expensive' (cheap sounds so bad) speaks on the market, even today.

The midbass is the same design from the 'S' series, (s4, s6, s10), and similar to the early RT series (5,7 etc).

I wouldn't bet the farm, but I'd put a case of beer on it, that it's a 'mini monitor'. The cabinet corners SCREAM Mexico.

    Cheers,

Well. I will find out on Monday. I agreed to buy these and a Denon AVR 3600 for $125.00.
