Can I use a 105w per channel receiver with 100w speaker?

I'm just trying to get some sound in my shop. I have an old (don't laugh) Sherwood receiver rated at 105 watts per output. I'm using Bose ceiling mount speakers and they are rated at 100w. Keep in mind it will only be played at low to medium volumes.

You'll be JUST fine. Sounds like a good little shop rig.

I know you've got a few posts, but welcome aboard!

    Cheers,

Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Yes you can use that Sherwood, its the Bose that makes me shudder :D Just kidding. They will most likely hit distortion before damaging anything.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
