Fried RTi-12 Crossover?

I was playing my Polk RTi-12 speakers with a Hafler P7000 amp (rated at 350/channel at 8 ohms). I was playing them at a moderate level when the tweeters went out. I checked the individual tweeters and found that they were working, so I assume the problem is with the crossover. I performed a visual examination of the crossover and did not observe any burnt capacitors or other damage and did not smell any burning. The speakers are rated at 50-500 watts, so I am at a loss as to what happened.

Any ideas?

I hate it when that happens...but seriously,what test did you perform on the tweets to determine that they are still functional??
